Marisa:Why do people seem to think they are more enlightened to or superior to other people just because the other people believe in a god?

I can see people not caring about religion, but to go so far as to claim that anyone who professes any sort of faith whatsoever is somehow subhuman and should be killed or subconsciously thinking they are retarded, when, in fact, there is no proof that a god does -not- exist.

It's like whether or not there are aliens somewhere else in this vast universe(Or multiverses, if you believe that). You can't just go and claim there isn't an advanced alien species somewhere when we haven't even sent a man past the moon, therefore how can one claim that there is no God when we can barely even begin to understand how the universe works, IE, Quantum.
