Japan is one of the most mediocre countries in the world, its culture is overrated and the people there are bigoted beyond imagining. If you enjoy watching anime, that's perfectly fine, but going to the extreme by claiming that Japanese culture is better than North America's is just stupidity beyond fathom.

All in all, Japan doesn't even come close to ranking in the top 10 countries in the world.

There are lots of good US movies. If you actually take the time to look through them, you'll see that I'm right. The Bourne Identity, Rebel Without A Cause, The Day The Earth Stood Still (The original one), THX-1138, Jaws, Minority Report, Wayne's World, Rocky, First Blood, etc. Whatever "few gems" there are in anime, American music and movies outweigh it at least 3 times.

I've seen a list of the animes and compared it to the list of cartoons.

As for the movies, I switched to cartoons because there's nothing to compare, and most of their movies are, in fact, cartoons. I saw Tokyo Gore Police, and that shit was fucking stupid.

The movie industry is alright, for the most part. There are still plenty of movies on the way with plenty of originality. The same goes with music.

Japanese games have been stagnating for the longest time, while American ones are on the rise. Portal 2, MK 2011, and even a few other titles would pretty much beat any Japanese game out of the water. Muscle Madness for Wii? Come on.

How to Train Your Dragon wasn't that bad, and at least that shows American movies/cartoons are able to change. Japanese movies/cartoons will always stay shitty.

They're certainly not a terrible country, but their culture is xenophobic, sexist, and racist. Their work ethic is workaholic and soul destroying. All you've done is say "they are uptight and stuck up." Have you ever gone outside of the city? Looked at the nature there? The mountains there look nice. The bamboo forests during spring look amazing on the mountainside. Not to mention how cleaner the streets and sidewalks are. The people actually being polite outside, say at a supermarket or wherever. Hell, I've done shit in Japan that I would never do in America. I actually left my house on a regular basis there. I even found going to a locally owned grocery store there a lot more enjoyable than here. It could be just me being more motivated when I live in another country, or maybe the fact that I have friends living there so it's pretty easily settling in. But for me, I enjoyed it there more so than here. Now I'm just back to leaving my house ever other week just to get groceries.
