The last thread had a decent discussion, so let's do it again.

I, for one, wish there was a direct sequel to Riviera, with the same setting and characters. Yggdra Union has a billion sequels and prequels to its name, so why not?

Depends. Do you want another RPG with VN/datingsim elements? There are plenty of them out there. I just finished Luminous Arc 2, and I'm playing Record of Agarest War right now,

Do you want a game with similar gameplay? Good luck. Sting specifically designed this game to be unlike anything else you've ever played before. Although, if you haven't played Yggdra Union, you might want to do so right now.

IIRC the only difference between normal and hard mode is that your morale does not heal when you level up in hard.
Yggdra union is a pretty hard game, especially if you do not level up your units evenly and spread out MvP bonuses (fucking OP Milanor)

Timeline wise, it seems to go Yggdra Union-> KiTN -> Riveria, as Diviners were incomplete in Yggdra Union, and the Lord Of Darkness or w/e in the extra dungeon of Rivieria was the defeated form of the Lord in KiTN (I can't remember this part, its been quite awhile).

Another way to judge would be by the Archangel Mariel, who went from Angel (Yggdra) -> Made a pact and lost her powers(KiTN) -> Fallen Angel (Riviera)

About dept. heaven episode 3, I remember reading somewhere that its supposed to be an MMO?

Well we can leave it to STING to come up with unique battle systems. I sure as hell did not forsee a game like knights to have worked so well.

Judging by their obsession with equipment that break after use, the equipment in the MMO would probably follow the same system... which would be an interesting change from the standard "get best gear and use forever" system every MMO has now.

That would probably be a gigantic pain in the ass though, unless they use Hexyz Force's system of upgrading 1 fixed weapon

Theories as to why Atlus might not be interested in localizing Blaze Union usually cite the fact that certain elements of the game conflict with Atlus' translation of Yggdra Union, such as the alteration of Gulcasa's title of Blazing Emperor (焔帝, Entei?) to "Emperor of Carnage" when the fire motif associated with Gulcasa is very important in Blaze Union. Fans have also expressed worries that the events of the battlefield "The Warriors' Vacation -Girls' Side-" (戦士達の休息-Girl's Side-, Senshitachi no Kyuusoku -Girl's Side-?) and its Game Over scenarios, which depict the attempted rape of the female party members (including eleven-year-old Eimi), would be difficult to localize without some form of censorship due to their controversial subject matter. This particular event was even met with disapproval by several members of Sting's staff, though it became popular among a minority of male players in Japan. Fans have also expressed concern that the suggestions of Gulcasa's bisexuality, such as his affectionate relationship with Nessiah, might be censored.

I usually hate child characters but Lina/Iyuri was awesome. If there was anything in the back row that needed to be raped, she did the job marvelously.

Yeah, I always put her in the back row.

You will never have a scythe-wielding tactician as your housewaifu.

Ara ara~ ;_;

Why the fuck would you want that?

While on the subject, is luminous arc 2 better than the first one? Because saying the first one sucked hard is an understatement. Except for Mel and a certain white mage's badass transformation.

You forgot Vanessa.
She kinda looks like Cierra, come to think of it.

Yeah, sorry about that, can't believe I forgot about her. I prefer Cierra for some reason, though. A case of "things are best in moedration", I guess.

NOT SURE IF TYPO

It was a typo, but it doesn't sound so bad, doesn't it?

Oh well, the point is I like Cierra being more balanced and not as wild.

>>7310541
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks. Cierra is for those who prefer the sweet, ditzy, big-sister type. (Hell, she's even voiced by Yuko Goto.) Vanessa is for guys who like their women wild, naughty, dominant, and into straight shota. (Ask her how many times she tried to get Theo to be her "Rym.")

>>7310576
In my case, I think it's also the fact Cierra is from a much, much, muuuucchhh better game.

And to make things clear, Serene is by far my favorite girl in riviera, not the others aren't great too.

I don't think Luminous Arc 3 will ever get a translation, which is sad because the game was really great. That game definitely shouldn't have been rated Cero A, though.

Even if you have low weeaboo skills, giving Luminous Arc 3 a shot in Japanese would be worth your while.
