Not a style, Style. Something more than just tossing waves of orange/red/yellow bullets at you and expecting you to dodge them. They're all pretty like fireworks and use all kinds of bullets when he's not being lazy and using the generic arrows/daggers/kunai.

They don't always represent the character's powers as much as they cool but they're pretty to look at and it counts for a lot. An average game with good presentation basically.

It's not something unique to Touhou but it's there.

Touhou music is bland and soulless. The STGs are boring and tend to rely on you forgetting your own speed due to staying in one place for so long for you to actually make a mistake.

The fighting games are ok, I like the highly conditional nature of combos.
