Because as the amount of rich people increases, the amount of poor fuckers being stepped on by them increases exponentially.
So, if there are too many rich people in the world, the population will quickly reach it's critical size, and the world will be unable to maintain them.
And in the resulting world-wide food shortages and riots, war will likely break out. And since the world will be by then already spiraling into it's death, the whole thing will escalate until someone unleashes nuclear hell on the world, effectively bringing on the apocalypse.
That, is why more rich people is a bad thing.
