I've always been kind of curious about such things, but are the denizens of /jp/ armed? Being a hikki, should you not be prepared to defend your home against a possible invasion of the real world such as tax collectors, landlords, and criminals?

I have a few shotguns, a .22 rifle, and a Ruger Mark I, for my input.

Knowing that, I'm glad I live in a place that allows guns and I'm glad I own them. I have a 20 gauge single shot shotgun, 12 gauge Ithaca pump shotgun, a Smith and Wesson 9mm, and a .22 revolver. I also plan on getting a .45 soon.

I'm not afraid of anybody breaking in to my place or threatening me. I'd feel sorry for them if they did :) I may be a /jp nerd but that doesn't mean I'm a pacifist pussy.

I already bought a sturdy safe. Literally, that's what they're called. I thought about getting something similar to what you proposed, the Amsec Defense Vault. Problem was that they are only going to be available in late summer and they're made of 16 gauge steel. Very thin.

In the end, Even though the sturdy safe is much more than I really need, I bought it mostly because it was the best deal and I could store more stuff besides guns inside of it.

I don't really need to own a gun since the only time I really leave my room is for work, and when I do I'm supplied with one. Regardless, I figured if I ever get tired enough of life I'd want an easy way out, so I bought myself a S&W 1911. I fire it once or twice a month to keep my skills up but otherwise it's a safe queen. I also have a CCW so I can conceal carry on the very rare occasion I leave my house. Don't get me wrong, It's a good weapon but being a rather small person that I am, I would rather have a Walther PPW or another single stack weapon cause my g26 is kind of bulky to carry on my belt all the time.

You can't break down the Barret without removing the muzzle brake. The barrel slides backwards out of the upper receiver, which mandates the removal of the muzzle brake.

And you do NOT want to fire a Barret without the muzzle brake installed.
