Sometimes Nico comments are indeed as bad as Youtube ones, but it's easier to ignore that fact because
1. Most Nicovideo-frequenting Japanese can type Japanese properly, unlike most Youtube viewers and English
2. It's not my mother language

But the primary thing that bothered me about it was really just the fact that it's essentially the same thing as Youtube foreign language comments(outside of foreign language videos). If you can't write in a site's language you should avoid posting it or find someone who can help you write it, especially if you are asking for a favor.

Their website does not deserve it and you're only encouraging the shitty behavior and service they provide in order to get people to buy premium(including: Severe quality limits on uploads for premium users, tons of invasive content and advertisement without permission of the end-user(yes, there are addons to stop this, but that doesn't excuse it), cookies literally pouring out of the site, highly unstable service and possibly buggy code, and the biggest sin, scheduled "economy mode" during fucking primetime hours on a schedule).

Nicovideo getting money while Youtube provides many, many times better service with no little to no invasiveness is a fucking crime, regardless of the quality of Youtube's community.

I don't understand how this is an argument. People from all over the world post on Youtube, with varying levels of acquaintance with English, which is nothing like the situation of the Japanese. It's natural that most people on Youtube aren't able to post proper English, but it's irritating to see people try to argue, make points, etc. when they can't even fucking communicate on a basic level.

But yes, since Google bought out Youtube the situation has changed slightly.

But my point was that by putting all these inconveniences into place Niwango pushes users into getting premium accounts, offering services such as stability, quality videos, and non-invasiveness(? do premium users even get this?) which many other sites offer better for free.

So then what's the "pro" of Nicovideo premuim that makes it so worth money? A shitty commenting script that even basic users have? In fact, even premium users are limited to 100mb uploads.

Yes, they are allowed to stream live video. In fact, Nicovideo's live streaming and their live events cause problems in viewing the site even for premium viewers because the servers are shit, according to some Japanese discussions I've seen in a certain IRC channel. I've seen many occasisons where they just give up viewing if there's a big live event being broadcast that day.

For that matter, isn't there some kind of live streaming feature for Youtube as well(at least by Youtube)? If not, I suppose that could be counted as a benefit. Probably the only one I can think of. I don't think Nicovideo even offers video at 1080p or similar high definitions at all.
