My eyes are too poor for such configuration.

I love the concept, but not the result. The keyboard would be blocking the screen.

This setup is godly. I approve of it completely.

Also, room thread.

I await the day when all four walls and the ceiling and floor are computer screens that I could point at to get stuff done.

Would be better if the bed also had a built-in toilet, and maybe a refrigerator on the right side.

I have enough money I could probably buy something as retarded as that actually, I don't really see why on earth I would do something like that but it's perfectly possible with today's technology. I'm satisfied enough with two monitors and a mouse but I guess the other poster isn't, so if he had the money it's not difficult. Really though, while voice and body control have come a long way since they were first developed, it's still pretty much a struggle to work with in my opinion compared to just a mouse and keyboard.

Yeah seriously, pretty much the only time I think we'll collectively give up mouse/keyboard is when we can fluidly control a comp via thought alone. The hand /arm movements required to control a computer are already basically the minimum that's fucking feasible anyway, to get any better you have to remove the hassle of the handwork. And even so I'd imagine it'd take forever for a mental interface to type up faster than we can with our hands.. I'd imagine it'd be inaccurate as fuck unless it self-learned/tuned to your thought patterns to guess what you were saying. Not to mention I think keyboard/mouse may still be more accurate for gaming than mental interface due to trained muscle memory/precision vs thought, which would guaranteed have irregularities and limits to how many things you can do at once/focus on at once without relying on muscle memory.. but we'll see about that.

I wish we were able to communicate the mental image itself, without using crude instruments like words at all. There's a long way to it though.

I'm sure most of us have epic, for lack of a better word, stories and visions in our heads that we wish dearly that we could manifest into reality perfectly as we see it.

But yeah, that really doesn't sound like anything feasible just due to the way that our brains work and the limits of what kind of inputs that we could consciously give to a machine.. I think at best it might be able to just transcribe your visions into words describing it (without you actually thinking about how to describe it in words), rather than actually drawing / modeling it for you. Even if you can see it in your head clear as day, the only concrete place where we could pick up visions in your head, the part of the brain that acts as a projector screen for vision (for lack of a better simple description).. will normally only give the processed image coming in from the eyes and nothing else assuming you're not on drugs. Which makes me realize, at the very least maybe what people see when they're dreaming could get imaged using such a connection... but daydreams, I don't think so.

I am from the future. In the future there will be full-brain interfacing devices that let you do everything from controlling your fridge with mere thought to fully entering a virtual reality and interacting with it with all five senses. Nearly all applications of this technology will be used for pornographic purposes.

Maybe with appropriate IT and biotechnology it'd be possible to map all those billions of neurons in the brain and relatively quickly read information from it. The reading algorithm is a tricky part and would probably have to depend on the individual. Then it'll have to convert this information in many relatively simple thought patterns. You can call them words, but they'll probably be much deeper and more precise. Then you have to transmit them into another receiver, that will convert it into thought pattern of recipient.

If that would be possible one day it would be the end of artists. Either that or everyone would be one.

What else would you do when all the work will be done by the robots? Only do some creative stuff or burn your (eternal) life in virtual reality entertainments of your choice.

There is still limits to imagination between people. This is actually one of the biggest thing artists struggle with, inspiration.
