Ketchup makes things "palatable" only because it overwhelms all existing flavor with it's high sugar content. That's why children, being fond of sweets as they are, love to drench everything with ketchup.

Plain eggs with salt is a bit dull meal though. At least have it on a slice of toast, with some bacon. Or add some sauteed mushrooms, pepper, cream and grated romano cheese in there, and stuff it with something. Chicken fried rice with bok choy perhaps, or soft hash browns and onion, minced bacon and sausage.
