Consider: the majority of her workforce are fairies, most likely the stock kind. They're essentially useless except for taking care of themselves but, if fairies are as mischievous as they are made to sound, then the results of "cleaning up after themselves" should also do the mansion some good. Anyway, Remilia keeps them around mainly because she probably thinks it looks bad for such an aristocratic figure not to have any servants.

They also do it for the free roof over their heads as well as protection from stronger foes that would easily do them in; fairies may reincarnate, but I'm sure the temporarily dead part isn't much fun. Not bad for "looking like you're doing work," really.
