Admit it, most of you only know about Touhou because you watched "Marisa Stole The Precious Thing" on youtube.

>> No.720984

No, I know about it because it was flooded in /a/ and caught my interest.

>> No.720993

No, one of my friends is a touhou fag and showed me a game at a con.

>> No.720997

I only know about it because of the constant flood of posts on /jp/.

>> No.720999

>>720973
Touhou Hijack LOL did it for me. Thank you, Anonymous of Russian Federation (wherever you are)

>> No.721000

A long time ago i saw 2 boards TypeMoon and Touhou/Rozen boards on iichan. Thats when it started.

>> No.721007

I saw Touhou on /a/ a while back and went to try it out. I didn't like it much, but it exploded in popularity here in /jp/.

>> No.721013

early days on /a/ before touhou hijacks when someone posted the youtube IN extra clear

>> No.721014

I know about touhan since PCB was released so STFU.

These two. I had no fucking clue what the Marisa Stole the Precious Thing was. I thought it just was a one-shot like that Korean flash about some female rabbit loving a male cat when it was taboo.

>> No.721020

>>720973
When is was first spammed on /a/.

>> No.721021

I played some random shooter, didnt know it was touhou.

>> No.721024

That's not why I know about it, but it's probably the first instance where I gave half a shit about it.

>> No.721025

I played the IN demo when it came out, over 4 years ago, and have played the games since.

I am a gamer, I enjoy playing games, and I hate all you Touhou fandom fuckers with a passion.

>> No.721030

Nope!

This was what exposed me to Touhou: http://yuki.kitune.info/hikari/flash/mizkan.html

There was a thread about it on /b/, back when it was full of weeaboos. So yeah, that was a while ago.

>> No.721040

I saw a replay of IN extra on youtube and I knew that I had to play the game at whatever cost.

>> No.721041

Roommate once told me about this crazy game that was insanely difficult where you had to reclaim spring or something, then showed me a video on youtube of someone clearing Phantasm in PCB. I shat bricks. Then he gave me the game, and I started playing. Fun times.

Then /jp/ started and I thought I'd check it out, only to realise "Holy shit, people actually know about this game??"

And thus I started edumucating myself on the touhoes.

>> No.721042

The F.O.E. Flash lead me to IOSYS, which led me to Touhou.

I've never seen "Marisa stole the precious thing."

I'm a shmup fan, so naturally I'dve heard of Touhou before this board even existed.

All of us knew about toohoo before this board existed. The question is, did you know about toohoo before /a/?

>> No.721058

Actually most of the original 4chan touhou fans came from seeing the Marisa stole the precious thing flash back when IOSYS originally posted it.

>> No.721081

Touhou fanbase in a nutshell:

Rejects (of rejects) trying to fit in with other rejects (of rejects). Thank god moot created a trash can... I mean imageboard for this Touhou garbage.

>>721064
I wasn't an /a/ regular until last year; I knew OF it beforehand, but the majority of my exposure is from /v/. Yeah, once upon a time, Touhou was a valid topic there.

Troll harder

>> No.721087

>>720973

No, I know about it because it was flooded on /a/ and eventually Sakuya caught me obsession

>> No.721092

I've known Touhou since 2004.

>> No.721105

i did it for the touhou hijacks in /a/

>> No.721108

>>721081
And here we are, the both of us. Somehow, I don' think you've thought your clever plan through.

>> No.721109

I've known about touhou since early '05 but didnt start playing until last year.

>> No.721117

I find about it in Desuchan.

>> No.721114

A couple months before that happened, someone from VJ Army was pimping hardcore Touhou remixes, and I was on a hardcore kick. Since I like IIDX, and thus obviously like self-inflicted pain, I loved the idea of the Touhou games and was pretty much instantly hooked.

>> No.721144

Touhou Hijacks -> I wonder what the fuzz is all about -> Jesus christ the bullets shoot bullets -> Jesus christ the penises have penises -> Jesus christ the remixes have remixes.

Someone posted a Demetori album on /a/, that and Sakuya.

>> No.721157

I found out about touhou back in old /a/. I started playing it and got around to really liking the games.

>> No.721173

Someone I know online told me about it.

The description he gave was that you fly around as a little girl and shoot other little girls while dodging hundreds of bullets. Needless to say, this grabbed my interest.

>> No.721178

raise your hand if you participated in the pre-MStPT touhou floods on /a/. most of the comments from people who didnt know what it was were along the lines of "i have no idea what this is all about, but i support this flood". we would dump a couple thousand images at a time, which was quite frustrating on a 50-image limit.

>> No.721207

I knew about it when someone on /a/ was trying to gain followers into the fandom. Needless to say, his efforts were futile.

However, OP is right, touhou only gained notoriety because of that fucking flash. Almost any western fan knows touhou because of it.

>> No.721210

Back around 2004 I saw some eleven fanart, asked who it was, ta-da.

>> No.721216

I know about it because I have a friend who pestered me about it until I tried it. Didn't like it but love the fighter.

>> No.721212

>>721207
That's only because 4chan is huge. There are lots of fans who knew about it before then, but they're usually not the "HURRR RDURRRRRRR MOST PUST ON 4CHAN NOW" type.

>> No.721220

I made the papercraft before I played the games.

>> No.721228

Too many fanarts caught my attention. Then changed all friends into Touhou fags.
