Actually, the removal of the clitoral hood is pretty bad, too. Many women have an extremely sensitive clitoris (that thing has 8 fucking thousand nerve endings), which is protected by the hood. Without the hood, a woman's clitoris can be so sensitive that it causes pain, and I suppose it'll desensitise over time without the adequate protection that the hood provides. Both of these effects may reduce sexual pleasure dramatically.

Personally, though, I'm against all kinds of circumcision that isn't either for an acute medical condition or chosen by the person themselves as an adult. A baby's genitals just shouldn't be meddled with for other reasons than protecting the baby in the case of certain extremely rare medical problems. Forcing one's religious or aesthetic preferences on babies is just plain unjust.

This got me thinking, I have to say. I'm against circumcision, but I realise that often the tone of threads concerning it is very aggressive. Uncut defenders often say excessively mean things about cutfags, even talking as if having been circumcised was their fault sometimes... it must be very hard on those who feel they've been damaged by the procedure. It's like people talking to a rape victim about how tainted and damaged that person is now, how much rape sucks and how much better life is when you haven't experienced violence. People who have been circumcised against their will are victims of a crime against their right to their own body, too, so their feelings as such should be taken to account instead of just talking about how circumcision makes one's genitals somehow defunct.

Circumcision is a tragedy, but it's even more of a tragedy that many of the very people who wish to prevent that tragedy don't still pay attention to the emotions of the victims who have suffered the crimes.
