Any Forexbros still around? I remember there used to be threads awhile ago, not sure if that's still the case.
As a NEET I thought it'd be nice to make some money without having to resort to menial labor, so I'm trying to get into Forex.
Been doing research so I can convince my father to loan me some money.

It's just one guy spamming his site over and over and one or two more followers rapidly losing their money. If you have enough capital to get into forex surely you can find a more reliable venture for income than gambling and making an idiot of yourself after your money is gone.

Also, I was browsing the archive earlier. For anyone who's interested:

This seems to be a good site to learn the basics
http://www.babypips.com/school/

You can set up a demo account here after you've learned the basics. No need to use real money either, perfect for practice.
http://www.fxopen.com/OpenDemoAccount.aspx

Lastly, this site seemed perfect for researching any unfamiliar investment lingo.

So did you try Forex? What was your experience with it? How much capital did you use & what profits did you make?

I've seen this in the archive as well, but I'm not so convinced. Surely it has to be legit, even if it's another site?

>> No.7187171

>>7187158
it's legit, yes
is it easy to make money off of or is a sure bet? no
you might hit it big, you might lose it all. if you're fine with that then enter the fray. if you can't afford to lose what you put into it stay away.

Unless you went to Harvard to get hired by Goldman Sachs, don't bother. You really think some random NEET stands a chance against pros who are betting against you to take your money?

Even if you somehow hold your own, you'll just be working for your broker and making chump change. In order to make more than minimum wage you have to take risks that will make you shit your pants after every order.

>> No.7187175

They're just trapping poor NEETs into losing everything. Don't bother.

>> No.7187183

you know the only way to make a sizable amount of cash off of this is to invest a big chunk of money, you cant just throw a few hundred dollars at this and expect to make a good profit.

Forex works if you have a huge amount of money to invest, otherwise don't bother with it.

Also if you have that huge amount of money you're better put it in banks to gain interest. With the past of the years you will gain enough interest to lead a poor NEET live.

Fuck forex, look at the world economy right now. Every currency is weak and they're all betting against themselves to make their currency worth less to pay off debts.

If you want to trade, buy commodities. Oil, silver, food, whatever. They're all going up.

>> No.7187209

....who the hell uses those shitty brokers?

If you're too dumb to research your broker before opening an account you deserve to get scammed.

I abandoned my site ages ago and have $400 sitting in it, but there's no way in hell I'm going to take it since it would count as an outside income and force me to start paying taxes. Maybe if it was $2000+, otherwise it's not worth it.

>> No.7187219

Forex trading is just playing the currency markets. At the end of the day, if you consider everybody who's playing at once, nobody makes jack shit. Every dollar somebody makes is essentially a dollar somebody loses. The only way to make money on Forex is to "beat the market." And keep in mind, that somebody point out, that big financial companies have hundreds of peoples with PhDs in mathematical finance tuning their models all day while another gigantic room of political science PhDs and former ambassadors and what the fuck not have you who stay up round the clock are somebody's designated Malaysian experts and are virtually guaranteed to know what's going on in with the USD-MYR balance before you do.

Not that you _can't_ beat the market, of course. Roughly half the people manage to do it every day. These are the winners. The big financial units also sometimes move in predictable ways that do allow smaller, less risk-averse investors to make a profit out of them. And, as in stocks, sometimes if you have a good eye for things you can catch a lucky break by getting lucky with the right startups (or in the forex case, anticipating some sort of major market shift). But by absolutely no means is there a consistent or guaranteed way to pull any non-trivial money out of the money markets.

$400 minus tax is still going to be more than zero
if you make $0 next year then well, you obviously don't pay taxes on that

>> No.7187230

Wow. I'm amazed by people (idiots) who trust in all offers of quick/easy/work less money making. If someone knew such method he wouldn't share it and would use it himself. It's like all these books telling what to do to be rich. (it's 200 page long high school level elaboration telling you that you are sucker giving him money that made him rich). The same with anything promising money. You have to be real idiot to believe in these.

Btw; these things are illegal in most 1st world places.

It's more about being too lazy to file taxes than anything else. I make $1600/month doing nothing.

I don't think anyone on /jp/ is trying to get rich quick off these online "jobs", they just don't want to leave the house and interact with others. If I could flip burgers at my desk to make money I would.

I had a feeling it'd come down to that. Do you have any experience w/ commodities?

>>7187189
I heard Gov't Bonds are good too, but I don't have that kind of cash to make a decent living off of interest. I was hoping for something quick.

>>7187219
This post gives me hope..Even if it's only a little.

So the general consensus is either:

A) It's a scam.
or
B) You need (a lot) money to make money.

Fuck..Seems like I'll have to continue toughing it out as a NEET.
