When I want an indication on a game's quality I just find someone who gave similar ratings to games I've played and check his votes list.

It's just that people are more likely to troll VNs that more people have heard of. If you try trolling an untranslated VN, very few people here will have played it, so the chances of baiting someone are considerably low.

I think the game was called OMGWTFBBQLOL or something like that, it's an entire game where you play as a Bancho and beat the crap out of other Banchos but they're all freaking insane, like one goes off on sex crazed rant in the middle of a speech, it's nuts, it's the kind of game where you know hardcore narcotics were involved at some step.

Hey, I'll defend it on one point: The game itself wasn't bad, just the art and in some really weird places the dialog and sound. It got better though! The PSP and Xbox re-releases actually fixed most of the problems the game had. If you've got a custom firmware enabled PSP I'd recommend you try it out, since I haven't been able to find it anywhere approaching a reasonable price.

DVDPG version of Ishika to Honori, takes the cake.
I played it unaware it was changed from the original, got one normal ending and one "bad". Something seemed really weird though, character interactions didn't make sense, everything felt rushed, some things I expected to see in flashbacks weren't there at all.
So, I got the full version, in Japanese.
Ishika to Honori starts with two naked lolis in bed with the protagonist. The first paranormal activity they investigate is in the English version a demon causing villagers to "act weird" or something equally vague. The original explains pretty clearly that "acting weird" is having sex non-stop. The culmination of that incident, an event that starts the main storyline, involves the mind controlled protagonist raping the two titular heroines. The rape is of course never mentioned in the DVDPG version, despite shaping the relationship between the main characters.
What the flying fuck. I didn't bother going further in the full version, but considering how fragmented the story felt, I'm assuming that the amount of stuff they cut out only grew bigger with each passing scene.
And don't get me started on the game system - it's ridiculously bad. No skip, no backlog, no save&load, gutted battle system(though they HAD the ability to do that right - the battle system consists of making choices for everyone in the "party", but in DVDPG version you only make the choices for the protagonist).
Basically, a pretty bad nukige, with all the ero removed and horrible game system. Who the fuck thought this gutted release was a good idea was clinically retarded.

Oh it was, it was one of those awful games where it seemed like it would play similar to Utawarerumono where it would place an emphasis on unit placement and strategy and let the H just occur in between battles.

NOPE. Failure is the only option, I think I managed to beat it because someone made a hack that boosts up your hit rates and attack turning the game from nearly unwinnable to just slightly winnable. Because periodically the game will still just decide that your attacks did no damage. For no reason.

Dragonia.
You know how shitty some of Hirameki's DVD games got?
Dragonia was their original title.
And they still managed to fuck up translation.
Its subtitle was "Fifth Magical Ourves."
It was about Five Magical Orbs.

But only three of them even come into play.
The first choice can lead to a bad end.
There's one quiz show segment where the answers can only be found in the manual.
There's an inventory system where you can use items, but there's only one item to get (a sword) and you use it even if you didn't actually get it.
There's a segment where you explore a dungeon by blindly choosing left or right a couple times. If you fail a few times, you get a bad ending.
The protagonist has the same voice as Lyner from AT.
