I hope this thread won't offend anyone, but I was just wondering - how many successful and happy people there are on /jp/?
A happy and successful person defined here as something like this:
>has no severe mental problems, overall more satisfied than unhappy
>has a stable and fulfilling place in society (not NEET, stability in a job/education they like)
>has at least a couple of good friends and no significant social problems
>either has a romantic relationship with someone they like or feels happy without such relationship either for now or for life
>has no great worries about their financial situation, health or life overall
>has long-term dreams and goals that they believe in and are trying their best to achieve
I just wonder. Note that I'm not implying someone can't be happy as a hikki, I just wonder how many people on participate actively in society and are still happy.
Pic unrelated.

Then why the fuck do you ask that on /jp/ of all places? Get out.

OP doesn't know what happy means.

True that, it is a simple thing. If you are happy then you are, if you aren't then you aren't. What other people define as happiness is irrelevant.

Because I'm interested in /jp/ specifically. I'm sorry if that annoys you, it wasn't my intention. You can always hide the thread.

>>7158512
Well, happiness is a complicated thing - I just think "successful and happy" means to me something along those lines. I tried my best to define what I meant, but I'd like to hear a better suggestion if you have one.

I feel offended.

You think that people with job and girlfriends can't be unhappy?

OK you can stop right there. these are the delusions of children.

Had you read the first post in its entirety, you'd know those aren't the only requirements listed at all. Of course people who have those things can be unhappy (and unsuccessful, too).

None. Now get out.

I'll feel succesfull once I truly don't care anymore what other people think about me.
And I am already happy

Reported for greentext shit.

Why can't people just make full sentences? It isn't hard and conveys a message much clearer than just greentexting fragments.

He just used it as a formatting method, you goddamn autist.

I have no idea. At this point all it does it bring down post quality on /jp/ and make it look shitty. Just report it.

Because greentext is usually quite clear to read, and much more condensed. Why so anal?

>> No.7158584

>>7158576
No it isn't, greentexting for anything other than quoting reads like the grunts out of someone's head rather than a complete thought. Condensing meaning may lose its intended meaning after awhile considering how much is lost when communicating over the internet.

>> No.7158615

>>7158584
Usually no meaning is lost, but the result is a lot smaller and much quicker to skim-read.

>> No.7158631

It's always funny how people bitch and moan about greentext but no one minds traditional lists at all. The greater-than bracket and the colour make the format criminal!

That's what I like about it, it's like you're following someone's thought pattern step by step to the conclusion. This wouldn't work in actual conversation.

I'm very happy despite not being "successful" in the eyes of society, in fact I'm far happier now than when I was trying my hardest to fit in.
Normals gonna normal.

To honor the OP:

Heya, I'm currently a 4th year Civil Engineering Student
Likes to draw, make videos, anything computer related, and tinkering with devices and mechanisms

I'm not perfect, I get a couple of failing grades but am confident I can finish my course in my 5th yr as is normal.
My dream is to either discover something or invent a device/ concept that will benefit the scientific community and society in general.

I am actually quite happy with my life.
Need someone to share it with actually.
I'm pretty bad with interactions of the opposite sex.
But I always keep in mind that women like the responsible, clean and honest type ^_^
I strive to be the best mate I can be.
Err... for now I'm guilty of actually having fleeting emotions on Anime girls.

Ok then, so OP that's some part of me, I hope this answered your questions adequately
