The Russians have been selectively breeding foxes to be as tame and playful and loving as domestic dogs. Now they are selling them to people who want them as pets.

Be honest, if you were in the market to get a new dog and had the money, how many of you would just get a fox so you could name it Ran and play a game of pretend that you are Yukari?

I would get a fox and name it Ran and have a good pet and not fuck it.

The Russians tamed arctic foxes at least a few years ago. I'd buy one if I had the money.

Well... hate to be shallow, but if I recall this right they're limited to silver foxes right now.

So rather than Ran, you'd have to settle for this guy.

I'd get a fox and name it Horo.

>in b4 Horo is a wolf bs, when she's clearly a fox.

Actually the article stated that the silver foxes were domesticated later then the red foxes

If you look through the pictures for the article you can see one of the researchers at the russian institute holding a red fox, among several silvers.

Haven't read the article. Just telling what I know from the only Russian fox breeding programme I know of.
