Fucking look at yourselves

None of you know a single god damn thing about practicality around the household.

If the toilet started to act up in the SLIGHTEST bit you'd willingly pay up the ass to fix it in a hurry.

I on the other hand, will start to learn just the basics about automotive, plumbing, general construction, etc. so I can be a functioning member in society when i move out of the house.

what's your excuse?

House chores, bro. But no, I don't know how to fix things but I'm willing to learn (and I do) when a problem arises. Course my mother gets the landlord to do it before I get to, and by then I'd already know and planned out what I would do.

>Automotive
Don't need that shit use public transport. Hooray europe.
>Plubing
So what unclogging the drainage is somehow difficult? You open the "s" shaped thing and clean shit up and then put it together.
>general construction
You mean like taking a drill and drilling a few holes inserting wall plugs and then sticking screws in?

Also how does a toilet act up? Do you mean like the cistern that holds the water or something?

Paying a mechanic/plumber/contractor would be contributing to the strengthening of the economy, thereby supporting society. Doing everything yourself deprives local companies of business.

Your self-sufficiency is at odds with what is best for society.

I've fixed my own brakes, suspension, engine and bodywork. Built a few fences, too. And I made a functional zip-gun.

I have been a functioning member of society for 23 years now, I moved out of home and supported myself from the age of 15

I even have full trade qualifications I don't use (radio tech) let alone a well paying IT admin job at a Uni.

Modern cars there is not a lot to do apart from tyres, fluids, battery, radiator, air con and such.

Beyond that it's not worth the time as it's all electronics, they plug it into a PC in the shop and it tells them the problem.

Without the software and specialist gear your in the dark and likely to cause more damage than good.

I own fifteen acres of land in west Virigina. I have a small house practically off the map. I had to cut down a few dozen tree's by myself on the plot a few years ago. By just sustaining myself and my household, I already know I'm superior to baby OP living in the big city. But lets say hypothetically, that I can't do any of those things.

I can piss and shit outside, I have a multitude of tools in my workshop that I could relearn if I ever forgot how to use them, and if fixing my truck turned out too hard, It's only about an hour or two to the nearest town.

>Beyond that it's not worth the time as it's all electronics

Sort of right. Things like cylinder timings, fuel/air mixture, etc. are controlled electronically. Even my 1993 Dodge Ramcharger has electronic controls. You DO have to fix that shit, but that boils down to "diagnose a fucked-up sensor, buy new sensor, replace sensor." I just got done doing that.

Most auto maintenance work is the same - replacing plugs, brakes, etc. But for the most part you can't "tune-up" a car they way they used to.
