Hey /jp/,

Just read the first 3 pages. Why is everyone here so bitter?

>> No.7055469

Depends on the:

Time of day.
Which anons are on at the time.
Weekends.
Amount of trips on at one time.

Templates like these are dangerous. Take your pick.

This is pretty much it. Though personally I don't think "spoonfeeding" newcomers is necessarily as bad as people make it out to be, it does have the effect of encouraging more of such people to come here. Rather than truly believing that the board is "going to shit" or "turning into /a/," I think most people, myself included, simply don't want /jp/ to change at all. I can't speak for others, but I'm comfortable here, and despite the fact that probably half of the threads on here are complete shit, the half that aren't I find to be enjoyable, and I'd be very sad to see the place change, regardless of what it changes into. Of course, it's impossible to expect otherwise for any significant length of time, but I think that explains the hostility better than anything else, really.

>> No.7055571

>>7055528

Well, there is the difference between having conflict and being hostile.

While with the fist we can develop a discussion with constructive arguments and some degree of respect, with the later we have pointless arguing and name calling of all sorts.

Even /k/ can be civilized some times, why not /jp/ ?

Everyone should just get along and stop being so rude to each other.

Sometimes I wish /jp/ wasn't a part of 4chan, because I think that's most of the problem. Same for some of the other less popular boards as well.

At the second thread he started questioning why would I do something like that instead of posting the link and let the others look for themselves and saying that doujin/manga dumps where stupid because of that.

Disregard there were only one or two actually complaining while the a few other viewers were getting pissed with the whining and somehow the anon that didn't like the dump said I was jelly of meiling hong while the others where saying he was meiling trying to shitpost, so I finished dumping, thanked all those who stayed to enjoy the doujins and then I left, I mostly ignored the arguing though.

It still beats my why they dragged the meiling's name on the thread.

>> No.7055616

/jp/ hates shit posters. In order to try and get them to go away, /jp/ dispenses endless and relentless vitriol upon their heads. The problem is that while this sometimes works against outsiders, /jp/ is secretly composed entirely of shit posters, so usually this behavior ends up simulating a virulent autoimmune disorder.

>> No.7055626

>>7055612

Well on /k/ and /tg/ while being slow boards they have enough posts to either ignore or hide shitposters, but with /jp/ being slow as hell it only leaves a huge time window for a shitpost to be noticed and generate all kinds of replies and trolling.

/g/ by the other hand is quite fast and still the trolling amounts per thread is amazingly high.
/sci/ is 50/50 when it is about interesting threads and shitposting/trolling on the front page.

/jp/ can be friendly to newcomers sometimes. There's just a way to ask : don't make a stupid new thread if there's a related one, don't use emoticons, ask and don't demand, and so on....

So I'd like to thank you for your help from the bottom of my heart, /jp/.

>> No.7055637

Because I hate people. I would hate myself if I wasn't me.

Just look at the things some of them say sometimes. Look at the insults they use. The way they use insults and never arguments really disgusts me. And the many contrived ways they come up with to call people retarded and think they're the cleverer for it. Like telling someone that they must have eaten paint chips of as a child, or that they must ride the short bus, or that their parents must have been related, or that they must have been dropped on the head as a child, all these things. They just make the one saying it sound impossibly stupid and obnoxious. And then you'll have the other stupid people saying the equivalent of "haha good one" is an all honestly because of the creative new way they found to call someone a retard without actually addressing the heart of the issue. Fucking people.

This is the board where all of the most socially retarded people in all of 4chan gather, how can you expect a group of people who don't know the basics of simple communication to be able to have interesting conversations?

/c/ doesn't leave too much room for trolling though, people tend more to go there to get cute girls pictures rather than discuss interests and tastes.

But you can start a flamewar if you begin to argue about pairings and which character is lesbian, bi or straight, but this works better on /u/ though.

Both idiots and geniuses are "socially retarded." And by that I mean they think and act on a different level from the majority of people who are in an average intelligence range. The idiots are too stupid to get along with the bulk of society, while the geniuses are too intelligent to get along with the bulk of society.

I'll leave it to you to decide which /jp/ is.

Just know that I'm only using genius as the opposite of idiot before someone gets mad because they think I'm saying /jp/ is full of Einsteins.

Except, you likely don't have the experience to say that at all.

From the type of people I've seen posting it doesn't really matter what your intelligence/creed/race etc. it seems like it's just a bunch of really angry kids who grew up and didn't end up fitting in.

This is inference, I doubt anyone here has the knowledge to say for sure. This is clearly not a good place to be and anyone with sense would leave here.

That means that all of us are doing something stupid.
