Really it's just dropping files in, you're not overwriting anything save for the voice archive and list, and those work no matter the version. The most you have to do is start a new game, old saves may not work with new patch releases.

Believe it or not, none. Every bug report received thus far (that I know of) has been addressed.

Right now what we really need is a lot of testing and good reporting, so that a final (complete) archive can be released in the near future.

Basically what I'm telling you is, the most helpful thing you can do right now would be to play the game.

Battles are all pathetically easy. Select Kan'U and Shokatsuryou, put everything into heavy infantry, then hold control as you select infantry square if you're outnumbered or solid wedge if you're ahead in numbers. Ougi on the first turn.

If you happen to lose, you get to try again with more people, so just keep up the same strategy the whole wat through.

Anyone still have the links for the uploaded game? I only need the first part, MG's file gets corrupted every time I download it.

>> No.7052743

>>7052702

It’s also not that hard to understand the system. The game is a glorified game of Rock Paper Scissors with some formation weight and general weighting.

Intercept nullifies Charge
Charge nullifies Fire (Archers)
Fire nullifies Intercept

Then factor into that your Strategist’s bonus for using a specific formation, and formation vs formation. Note that if your strategist has no bonus for a particular formation AND your enemy is using a formation with an advantage against yours, you will come out the worst of it even if you win in the RPS portion.

For best results, when going into a new battle, pick the Solid Wedge (as it’s most defensive form), and play four turns to see what the enemy does, they ALWAYS will only rotate between two formations, or not at all (sticks with the one). Then just reload the game and pick something that gives you a massive weighting advantage against them.

>> No.7052751

>>7052743
when you say solid wedge you mean infantry square right? solid wedge is the second lest defensive according to the chart.

>> No.7052845

>>7052751

Yep, sorry, Infantry Square. Pick the most defensive form, and Intercept for 4 turns to see what the opponent does. They will only ever pick between two forms or stick with one the entire way through.

Once you work out what they do, restart the battle and pick the direct counter form and a general that has a star rating for the counter form.

Also note the bonus type the form gives, if it gives say, ATK: Light+, it means your Charge will do more damage. The DEF: xxx is what attack type that form repels. You'll notice the enemy also ever only does certain attack types repeatedly when in a certain form.

Once you work it out, you can take practically no damage per turn while ripping them a new one.

LCSE is a stack machine. You need to keep the stack balanced, and because of the nature of stack machines, unbalance can lurk for a while and rear its ugly head quite a long way from where the problem originated. This is in contrast to engines like FH's (pic) which use a more traditional register architecture. If you're going to use a fragile legacy format to edit the scripts, at least run a stack verifier or similar to ensure you haven't messed the balance. You can ask if you need any particular information and I'll see what I can give without requiring an NDA.

>> No.7052953

Bottom line isn't voiced. Second Shion camp script.

>> No.7055053

How the fuck do I win the battle where you have to get Gi down to 5000 in 5 Days? Ive tried advantages but the closest I've done was getting them down to 8 or 9 thousand or so with Shuri as General (everyone else is useless as Kakouen's ability makes it impossible to use any Ougi you have unless the General is Aisha or Shuri) and with Shion as the Strategist (She has a star in both Echelon and Gated Choral which both have advantages over the moves they do- Gated Choral and Feint Attack).

Is it really only possible if you take the extra troops?

try using aisha as a general and shuri as a strag(thats what i did,i took as much heavy infantry as i could then i just used the formations that had advante over them and spammed intercept)

Shuri as general, Aisha or Sei as strategist. Max out on Light infantry, pick a form that directly counters their form, and you should kill a ridiculous amt per turn. Use Shuri's ougi every 2 turns to counter.

The up side is we were able to locate every missing/incorrect voice call, so far as we can tell AND I do believe this should fix any crashes or skips too. (rx0 is a goddamn genius)

>> No.7056090

So does this mean we'll be able start from an old save point?

>> No.7056116

>>7056090
Maybe. It depends entirely on where the save was. A huge number of lines have changed, and since saves appear to work partially by line number it's very easy for a small modification to foul up a save file - and this is no small modification.

Before applying the patch tomorrow, I recommend you all attempt to get to a home base and save there. It's no guarantee though, the only way you can be sure the patch will work properly is to start a new game.

>> No.7056162

>>7056116
Home base saves can get corrupted too, since the game does keep trace of what was in the backlog the last time you played. Well, the skip function is quite fast, so it doesn't take long to restart from the beginning. You can even hold CTRL during the battles to skip the animations.

As much as I'd love to provide a migration utility Cudder, I have absolutely no idea how. I'm not the brains behind the operation by any means, but we're pretty much making this up as we go.

If you'd like to provide any specific insight, tools, suggestions, etc. I would be more than happy to use whatever you might provide to increase the accuracy of the project or decrease the time it takes - but you're going to have to treat me as an idiot when it comes to these things. Hell, if you want to put your New Delhi workforce to good use and pull some magically automated fixed scripts out of your ass I'd not complain one bit.

That said, we've got this handled pretty well so far as I can tell. I'm confident the next release will address the overwhelmingly vast majority of reported and unreported issues - hopefully all of them. (Aim high, right?)

> Cudder- higurashi cracks = love
You're inflating his/her achievements. Cudder (or his underlings) ported Higurashi Kai (4 VNs) to the old Higurashi engine crack made by someone else. It seems that other person continued to provide cracks for Higurashi Kai too, but they were less popular as the old Higurashi engine allowed compatibility with GUI mods and other older mods people made. While compatibility is a nice, it sometimes broke features like choices in the eight episode, while the usual crack didn't (made by someone else).

To put it more simply, Cudder did not crack any higurashi game, he merely ported Higurashi Kai to the old Higurashi engine which was cracked by someone else.

As for this thread, Cudder claimed to have documentation regarding Koihime's engine (Nexton's engine) but refused to release it for some ENTERPRISE-grade troll reason. This is worth the ridicule, as someone shouldn't mention they have something and then refuse to publish it, it's seen as trolling. The good news is that nobody in this thread needs the documentation because those that needed it already reverse engineered the format themselves.

Includes ALL files this time, no need for original voice pack. Just copy SoundPackSEVo and SoundPackSEVo.lst from JP game and extract this archive to EN version of game.

Hopefully all problems are fixed. Scripts were scanned for stack and goto problems.
Also ALL voices were compared with original Japanse version. This release INCLUDES ALL VOICES as present in JP version.
Total count of added voices from last version is 836 (!!!).
Also some text lines were added that were in JP version, but for some reason were not present in EN version of game.

Someone should post this thread/download link on erogedownload too.

Is this going to result in some Japanese lines mixed in? I could see that being a little awkward.

Thanks again to all of you who helped edit the scripts. It took us nearly 2 days to handle the 861 voices that were added/repaired in this patch, it would have been weeks given the thousands of lines that you all helped with.

So this pretty much makes the fan voice patch superior, in all aspects, even if the official one does come out at any stage because the official will only be tailored to the 'base' game without the cut content.

Were the lines too 'socially unacceptable' or something? I'd like to know WHY MG decided to just OMIT LINES... Going by this, they deserve to be blasted just for blatantly cutting out content like this and hoping people won't notice...

I know for a fact I won't be buying now, because of this...

>> No.7060578

Honestly, I have no idea why they chose to cut the lines they did.

As an example, at one point they cut out Aisha saying:
"This is awful...!"

It fit the scenario perfectly, in my opinion, it had a voice file to go with it and I'm relatively sure political correctness hasn't gone so far as to have that line removed.

I doubt it was anything more socially unacceptable than you'd see in most of rinrin's scenes that were left in.

Or they could have just not cared. Looking at the quality of their script... while it is superior to past efforts... is still riddled with MANY errors. It makes me wonder if it was proofread at all.

They must have known there was no way it was going to get 2000 sales... they could have just decided to throw out a slap up job and just omit anything that was too much work or caused errors.

For the price they're asking for this... this poor level of overall quality is shocking.

>> No.7060990

To get all the voice patch fixes to work properly you should start a new game, otherwise you will get the old errors, etc from the old saves. Of course not all saves will bug out, but a fresh start is usually the best option and you can always just click the skip button or hold ctrl in battles to zip past stuff you've already gone through.

this is when it crashes (using right click or the menu), I can go on until the end without right click or menu, which is annoying cause I cant save.
also, it shows the new options that opens when you finish the game, but when close-open the application theyre gone.

I can use ctrl to skip, so if anyone knows the hotkeys to save, pls tell me.

Im sad :(

so I guess is only me right? (which is really strange).
again, new patch and new game.

thanks.

>> No.7061098

Is there a way to skip battles you've done before? People keep saying to start a new game when you replace the voice scripts. All I can do is hold control to speed up the text during them.

>> No.7061105

This works amazingly well with very very minor problems, also with properly translated scripts minus MG omits.
My old saves all work fine with the patch. I have removed and replaced them with every update since Final1 while testing all the way up to the current patch with an unbeaten game( I just beat it and did so by using/copying over all files with patch 2.0) , so for anyone getting a failed install, it's definitely just you that is not working.

Not in this case, those comparisons are between the original MG and original jp script.

Just means battle scene voice calls must have a different formatting. I'll take a look and see what I can do. At the same time, in the next release, there's a "replay" voice button the jap version had that I'd also like to add back in.

As far as I can tell, you seem to be the only one having the problem, so you should try a full reinstall. Also, make sure to install the font pack if you haven't, because your fonts look messed up. The letters aren't supposed to be overlapping like that. Also, if you're on windows 7/vista you may want to try running as an administrator (though I'm not entirely sure it's necessary) and you should probably be in either Japanese or English locale. Not sure if any other ones will cause problems, but best not to risk it until you know you've got it working.

Ex-crashes with menus person here

short story- was the gamefiles, redownloaded from eroguedownload.com and no crash now. all the problems with the old patch didnt find em now, good work :)

long story- the day the game was released, I donwloaded it from some mediafire links posted here on jp. unrar and 3\4 of game went good, but then the crash. I believe is something to do with the fullscreen-windowed funtion.

thanks for your responses, and if anyone encounters the same problem, dl the MG files again.
