Hey /jp/. I'm planning on going to Reitaisai on the 13th, but I'm not really sure what to expect. My Japanese is pretty bad, so I'm not even sure how to get tickets. Any advice for a newbie?

>> No.7019328

Buy the stuff we ask and everything should be fine.

This. Buy 2 copies of each. Don't worry about the money - we'll repay you in due time.

If I had all that much money to start with, I'd consider it, but I'm pretty near broke at the moment, so I probably won't be getting much, if anything. Sorry.

Why the HELL would you go to Reitaisai if you've got no money anyway?

>> No.7019365

>>7019341
Mostly to see what there is to see. I can at least afford a few things anyway.

>> No.7019389

So... help, anyone? Do you pay on entry, or do I need to order tickets in advance? Anyone else going?

>> No.7022690

bump

>> No.7022719

You're gonna want to get tickets in advance. That shit sells out. Contact a travel agency or international ticketing agency as soon as possible. Also, I really don't recommend going there with no money. You'll eat your fucking heart out.

>>7022719
Thanks. I assume you can buy tickets on the main site? Hopefully they take Visa. And I'm not too worried about the money, I wasn't really planning on buying doujin manga I can't read very well. Doujin games on the other hand...

>> No.7022803

you know people like you disgust me. you are paying thousands of dollars for a trip just to buy a few dollar items. i hope you will have a shitty trip.

Actually, is it true I only need a catalog to get in? And that you can get them in Akiba? Because that would make things a whole lot easier. And yeah, I'll post pics when I get back.

anyone asking advice on /jp/ is a total failure in life. hahahaha! *points at OP*

I don't know about that, you can always do both first go to Akiba to check for said catalog if you can use that to get in, and if they don't you can call the ticket place and place a order for 1/2 tickets before they sellout.

>>7022898
Fair enough. I guess if I ask around in Akiba I'll found out quickly enough. Thanks for the suggestions!

What, like a hand towel? I'd understand for summer, but it's not all that hot at the moment. Any particular reason?

There has been a sudden increase in Yuuka doujins being advertised in pixiv, what with her imrpoved popularity for no reason lately.

Exellent...

I was planning on attending, but I'm too lazy.

I'll start looking towards going to summer comiket if it's worth it.

Doesn't this state that the catalog will be sold at the event too? Am I missing something?

They also put in that stores will stop selling them on the evening before the event. Can anyone with actual experience confirm that they sell out quick?

I googled it and this blog also suggests no entrance fee. So can anyone clarify?

OP here. I just got back from a doujin store near where I live, everyone I asked said that the catalog is the ticket. They had a fair few in stock, so I doubt they sell all that quickly, but then it's still a good two weeks off. Regardless, I feel a lot more secure buying it now than leaving it until the last minute.

Hey OP, I'll be there for the first time too. Maybe we could meetup and go together or help each other buy common stuff without lining up everywhere ourselves.

I remember last years comiket had a /jp/ meetup too.

Sup bros, also gonna be there. Flying in on Saturday, catching the Miku concert on Wednesday, then Reitaisai on Sunday.

I propose a meetup.

I'm so socially awkward that I was planning on keeping the interaction with people on a bare minimum.

But then again, going to a convention is probably not the brightest idea to begin with.

Do the Japanese know the difference between weeaboos and normal travelers? Perhaps you could all wear some distinguishing mark so they know?

That would be weeaboo-ish.

>> No.7023730

>>7023666
Do you mean in general or at the convention? Because if it's at the convention, shit, you're already declaring your weeabooness. In general they'll just think of you as a tourist unless you are running around with a bag that has an anime girl plastered on the side or other equally nerdy shit. That's actually how they detect their own animu otaku too.
