The bomb system in SA and MoF really piss me off, gives me the feeling that ZUN was lazy and doesn't want to make spellcards for playable characters, no shitty slow moving circle bomb can replace the ecstasy you feel when you Master Spark the fuck out of someone.

The power system is fine, but it would be nice if he could return the bomb system to the EoSD/PCB/IN ones and let them be independent of the power.

Pft, you're the lazy one for not exploring how cool/useful some of those bombs are.

For example with Marisa A, I fucking love how you can store up to 8 bombs, in my eyes that's like being able to take 8 hits per life. The doll beam also zaps all bullets in the way too so you can easily use them to make a momentary wall off to the side, that will completely protect you for a few moments. But most importantly the laser itself on the doll is weak, but for some reason if you actually plant the doll on something when you bomb (as in run right up the the enemy and plant it) it will do fucking shit tons of damage. On bosses I sometimes will do a first doll-bomb to make a clear path for me to run up to the boss, then just run up and point-blank doll bomb the shit out of it.

Suika's bomb is also very cool if you can time it/place it right, does a lot of damage if you can reflect a storm of bullets + you are near-invulnerable in the bubble. Also Nitori's bomb, used right, is basically a get-out-of-jail-free pass for those boss spellcards that you just can't fucking dodge.

Well we'll find out in like.. three ish weeks. That is assuming that he's gonna unleash it at the next Reitaisai, which it seems plausible since he reserved two booths for himself there (which implies he's gonna have a ton of shit out to try to deal with a giant line).

With all the time he's had to think up new things (such as Kasen), and his demonstrating that no, he hasn't actually run out of ideas (Fairy Wars came out of the blue and was fresh).. I've got high hopes. I'm thinking the "incident" may have something to do with Oni/the Four Devas, with the forth one being a boss / the final boss or something. After all he's been working on Kasen's little story, so she might show up too etc.

My personal favorite bomb, weird a choice as it is, is Youmu's slash in PCB. Does so much goddamn damage, I abused the shit out of it. Too bad Youmu by herself has a very irritating shot type (at least in my opinion).

The new system allows a lot more freedom compared to the old one, the old one requested you to stock up on bombs, this one actually allows you to bomb through the non-boss fights.

Agreed on the animations though, the circles are just plain lazy.

I actually find Yukari-Satori incredibly easy. Its Nitori and Suika versions of her that I have the most trouble with. I don't really play Aya or Alice partner, but I recall not liking the intense speed that Aya's spells have.

Well, Satori is ONLY hard with Yukari because the spellcards are trademark enough to remember and usually you can get past them through the very character gimmick - tengu macro burst through nonfocus - nonshooting careful positioning, Nitori though bombs, Pandemonium breaks itself by the amount of damage Suika's bomb makes out of it. The good thing about Yukari is that stage 5 is way easier when you can stream past the end of the line. For everyone else it's a non-stop five minute dance that isn't particularily hard, but if you stop concentrating you are usually fucked as there are always some projectiles aimed straight at you - and you don't really feel like fighting MOTHERFUCKING ZOMBIE FAIRIES right after that.
