you are better off playing in the dan lobbies as 1st place % is capped at much lower levels than the regular lobby. It sucks to win less but that's the way it works in the ranking system. practicing certain area of the skill is necessary to advance to 6 dan.

Just remember premium accounts gets a higher 1st place % cap and apparently regular players have their 1st place % LOWERED by 5-8% if they reached the halfway point at 5 dan so keep an eye on your stats for every 30 games you played. Also if you do encounter premium paid players(usually those 2000+ rating 6 dan players), it's best not to win (trust me, you cannot win against them most of the time.).

i think you are the one bullshitting. if someone is terrible at mahjong, there would be no need for a premium account. your premise makes no sense. and to imply regular guys without a premium account can be just as good, you are naive to think that. You will realize this isn't true when you play starting at 5 dan. Lose one game after another just to lose it all in the end. It's clear you have no idea what program C-EGG invested on to make money. You need to be some sort of genius to be able to outsmart the programming, being just good at mahjong alone isn't enough. I don't have enough data for 6 dan but one thing is clear is the win % is too low, makes it too difficult to preserve points.
