Sanzu river doesn't have a clearly defined size, its width depends on the ferryman's mood and your actions during your lifetime (as well as how much was spent on your funeral).

I was under the impression that the Scarlet Devil Mansion was located on a small island in the center of the lake. Likewise, the Moriya Shrine should be atop the mountain I believe.
