Proxy. GIFT doesn't have an online shop -- the plushes are typically bought through retailers. The prices listed are MSRP.

Note: for older plushes that were really popular and aren't still in stock, you'll often see insane prices, particularly on Western auction sites, i.e. people trying to rip you off.

A good example would be Inu Sakuya. The original was like 2500 yen. It's going for ~4500 yen on Yahoo auctions. And you could probably find it for $100 on eBay because people are dicks.

By the way, if you buy chen make sure you get a few pins as well because her hat doesn't stay still very well. I usually leave mine on a figure case so that is not a problem. But if you like moving it around or playing/sleeping with it I guarantee you going get frustrated.

I have the same problem with Yukari. You should try getting Inu Sakuya from the picture. I believe she has a big tail. My Ran, on the other hand, is stable as a rock. I use her to support Yukari (kind like the actual game storyline...)

I currently only have Meiling. I occasionally let her guard my bedroom door.

However, I've got another 6 on the way. AmiAmi sent me an email earlier saying they're ready, so hopefully they'll be here by next week!

Those "other lines" aren't other lines. They're an entirely different product by other companies and circles.

GIFT has four Touhou lines; FumoFumo, nendo plus, extra large, and hand puppets.

Like another anon pointed out all the FumoFumo line are sameface. For better or worse they also have very simplistic mass production quality and will leave out character details since that's the kind of company GIFT are. In contract non-GIFT plushes has more variable quality, some made for cheap distribution and some are special limited runs which are usually better than anything done by GIFT.

I've had mine for just a few weeks and the ribbons on the back and the hat broke off.

Are they usually that fragile? :/

Also, how are you supposed to put the hat ribbon back on? It unfolded and I have no idea how to fold it back.

I don't have any touhous with hats, but Sakuya and Youmu's headbands might move a bit in positions I might not want occasionally. The frills on Youmu's dress also got a bit messed up, which makes me sad, so now I'm extra careful with how I treat her. Don't mess around too much with them.

I'm the EX reimu poster here again.

I purchased her from yahoo auction japan.

It seems as though someone won her in an auction but didn't realize her immense value--opting instead to sell her.

I bought her at about fifty USD under the price it would have cost me otherwise--however, adding the cost of shipping (one hundred or so) and other comission fees (fucking proxy service) I ended up 400 USD out the hole or more.

I still love her, and plan on getting all the rest. She was my first.

I'm a bit reluctant to purchase the regular sized reimu, I feel as though she wouldn't feel right with a bigger version towering over her at all times.
