Do fairies have houses? Did they build them?
Or do they sleep in rotting logs and whatnot, fighting the frigid night and awaken each day struggling to survive?

I don't know, but you can capture them.

>> No.6931633

Fairies build houses in trees or other places close to nature. The Three Fairies for example have two homes, with the newest one close to the Hakurei Shrine. Cirno lives in an igloo.

I'm sure they have houses anon-kun, worry not. They do seem a little bit like elves in that respect.

You bastard, don't remind me of how incomplete that set is.

>> No.6931668

A mixture of both. Fairy houses are usually within natural shelters (Akyu mentions they're mighty difficult to find due to that), but they're pretty good at stealing enough crap from humans to eke out a somewhat decent life. It'd be pretty hard living by human standards, but they're mostly happy with it.

Also, fairies are at home within their natural environment, so they probably aren't affected by the temperature extremes and the like as humans are. If you were a fairy of swamps, for example, you could just dive into a bog, let the mud cover you like a blanket and spend the night there. You'd also get to scare the fuck out of any humans that may see you when you wake up and fly around as a horrid mud beast.

And there's no struggle for survival for fairies, they're effectively immortal and only die when the piece of nature they embody no longer exists. They seem to do whatever seems fun at the moment (Sangessei is literally nothing but that), and since they know they can't die, they can be as reckless as they want. Clearly they're an ideal existence, I wish I was a little fairy girl alongside other /jp/ Anonymous and went on adventures every day in Gensokyo. It'd be hard at first without internet, electricity, heat and anything else, but we'd soon forget the luxuries of modern life and learn to be happy from simple things like a delicious meal cooked by a fellow cute fairy maiden.

The only problem with that is that fairies have no sexual organs, and it'd be difficult getting used to being a fairy if we remember our human lives...

>> No.6931706

>>6931668
In Sangessei, fairies are shown to produce, seemingly at will and without much effort, things like huge amount of alcohol, specialized clothing and costumes, and at one point an entire food stand, all just for the sake of a prank.

To call it a hard living is to mislabel it. It may be simple, but it's apparently a simplicity by choice. I mean, wouldn't you (or your inner child, at the very least) want to live in a tree?

Wasn't that entire nopperabo prank fueled by Sunny's light manipulation? Refraction can be used for illusions as well as just plain invisibility, and somehow Sunny seems extremely proficient with her ability.

I think an igloo suits her just fine

>> No.6931749

Whenever I see that picture, I wish Cirno was my spoiler imouto with slight tsundere tendencies. I find it rare for Cirno to be able to pull off such an appeal, but somehow it just works. She already got the childlike innocence down, which is pretty important, and you got two other factors you can also mix in, her foolish arrogance, and her cheerfulness, and it makes you wonder why she isn't portrayed in this kind of role more often, as it's perfect for her. The reason is probably the answer to that, though, it's just not the same when she doesn't have twintails in canon. But what I love about Touhou is that there's always an artist out there who is willing to exploit some potential appeal, even if it's a little subtle.

Her other pillow is made out of ice, so it's an ice body pillow, I guess.

What aspect of it? The one where every female character is a plain and uninteresting slut
with two or three lines of dialogue before they jump on MC's cock, how the story is
extremely shitty even for a h-doujin, or how the art and sex scenes suck balls?

That is a possibility, although the pile of broken planks left after Reimu was done with Luna would suggest otherwise.

Besides, they also operate stands at a recent Hakurei Shrine's new year's festival.

I would actually, but fuck rape doujins

I don't read H-doujins, but the ones I've passed by tend to have some sense making, otherwise I'd prolly not have noticed them as they'd be in some back corner with all the other shit.

How can people even have such an idealized view of Gensokyo

Am I crazy to have a view of Gensokyo that would be at least somewhat realistic? (that is to say, dangerous as fuck for any weak-asses they call outsiders that end up wandering in)

I'm inclined to think that its not their view of it, so much as pandering to the penises of their potential customers.

>> No.6931879

>>6931856
Again, it's porn, nothing else. 99,9% of hetero doujins are like that. Of course it's to please our penises.

How can there be an realistic one anyway? Everybody is gay in Gensokyo, after all.
