Would /jp/ be better as a BBS?

>> No.6920891

If it'll make people less retarded, yes.

Having undertaken a substantial review of existing English language anonymous textboards, it is my conclusion that it would not, for the following reasons:
1) Textboards do not appear to be per se better communities than imageboards. Rates of shitposting comparable to an imageboard were observed at 4-ch and dis.4chan.org.
2) The audience for a textboard appears to be substantially smaller than that for an imageboard. At present, there is one textboard to this author's knowledge which has an independent, active existence. In contract, there are very many such imageboards.
3) The topics of interest of /jp/ (e.g. touhou, vns, idols) largely suit themselves to an imageboard format.

You're probably right.

But SJIS art just looks so fun. ;_;

No. It would be extremely inconvenient.

Westerners are bad at JIS art though. We'd just be posting things made by better people.
