Right now I'm playing Real Imouto and enjoying it a lot, it has the same great humor and character interactions that were in Shinigami no Seppun.

I finally got around to playing Baldr Sky Dive1 a few days ago, and I just finished up Rain's route. Why does the general consensus for "Best Heronine" seemingly go to Sora?

I know she doesn't even have a route until DIVE2, so... do people like tsunderes that much? I, frankly, got highly irritated whenever she interrupted Rain time. Then again, I vastly prefer kuuderes, so I didn't even need to use any hands by the time Rain's h-scenes rolled around.

Well peoples tastes differ. Generally it's either Rain or Sora who's considered best. And most people didn't consider Sora best heroine untill her route anyway (and there is the whole deal with Kuu & agent, and how much it's actually them). Well personally I always liked Sora the best tough. And Sora really isn't tsundere, shes more on genki/caring type, it's just that she has her circumstances why she act likes one towards Kou sometimes.

Also Sora is mai waifu so hands off.

Really? It seemed to me as though he was very much leaning towards Chinatsu in terms of who he had feelings for, but bam, howling and now him and Sora are madly in love with each other. Their might of been some attraction to each other before the howling, but really, after it, it's like the other girls don't even have a chance. It would be like some generic harem series, where the girl the protag ends with is decided by some silly thing against both their wills, and requires absolutely no build up.

Desire is mystery adventure game (look/move/talk etc interface so don't play it if you are autistic). I loved it a lot. Just ctrl Makoto's route and only stop when you see something interesting because hers is only there as that's literally on of the first scenario driven eroges (1994 for the first PC98 release) made so they had to put somewhere lots of sex and that's where you have them.
Also I liked its translation because the ero was worth reading for the hilariousness it represents with the rhymes everywhere. Sure it's not accurate but eroscenes should be fun, not accurate and they were fun that way.

Anyway its scenario is really great in my opinion if you look past those, and Tina is my favorite loli along with Cal. I loved the final route because of her, and the last part of the game made me shit bricks. If you like adventure games then give it a go.

For me AQUA is best VN released in many months. System, art and music are god-tier; plot, setting and characters have everything to make them interesting. It's not without faults but none of them is really serious, most people who score it lover just whine that there's no route for Nazuna/Akemi/Kanade or because lack of explanations about what aqua is.

Yeah if anything I can fault in Imopara is that there are only a very few animations (granted there's craploads of total eroscenes, so I guess it's okay that only about 6-7 of them total are animated -estimation only, I still haven't completed it-), and that I'm not a fan of the protagonist massively changing between routes.
I liked him in Michika's route because he was like the masochist protags I like, but he was kinda a jerk when I did Rio's afterwards (I wasn't fan of how -MASSIVE GAME BREAKING SPOILERS BEWARE- he fucks Rio in her dream. I mean that's pretty much rape, it doesn't really make a difference in my opinion that she's dreaming of having sex with him at the same time.)
Anyway Michika's route was fantastic if you are into lighter femdom (only harder stuff was the pegging near the end). I found her character really amusing (I love these type of heroines, and I found her to be really well done at this type), and oh boy I did enjoy her ero (I probably replayed her pegging quite a few times).

Well then, I just finished up Nanoha's good ending. At first I was bewildered and somewhat amused by the seemingly EVA-esque ending, and then I realized what must happen to Nanoha in Rain's route due to her not giving Koh a chance to remember what he forgot when he lost a chunk of his brain.

Does that happen on every route except her own? Oh, and I liked Agent, even though she should really be called "Deus Agent Machina" with that ridiculous powerlevel that seemingly solves everything.

However, I was still extremely irritated at Sora's appearances. Why couldn't we just have autistic Kuu?

You should also get some of the normal/bad ends they have some pretty cool stuff in them, and most of them are better than the good ends, if you haven't gotten them.

and yeah, agent is cool, she some pretty good scenes. she also might feel deus ex machina untill shes and singularity points are explained bit better. Annd half of the reason why people actually like Sora as much as they do is because of agent/Kuu, it's whatever you consider them same as Sora, with being same and different character at the same time.
You probably wont find Sora best in the end considering what you have said tough, and I guess your point is kinda understandable. Altough your final judgement has to wait till the end.

I just completed my third VN, Yume Miru Kusuri. Loved Aeka and Mizuki, didn't liked Nekoko's route very much, pretty disappointing even.
I played them in the following order Mizuki -> Nekoko -> Aeka, I figured that Mizuki's route would be the worst one and Aeka's the best, turned out Mizuki's is my favorite and Aeka's is about just as good, but there is that one track in Mizuki's route that makes it better, I also just downloaded Tsukihime and I'm trying my best to catch up with you guys.

Being such a small town there isn't room enough for housing you so the principal puts you in the girl's dorm ... you show up not realizing and some girl drags you into her room and explains that she'll help you disguise yourself as a girl. You go to school as a boy, go home as a girl. She's an expert because well, she's a boy too.

That girl with the long brown hair on the left? Yeah, that's YOU.

Hilarity ensues. Like I just read where you try to bunk with a guy you met in class to get out of the girl's dorm and it turns out he's HARD GAY and just wants to get into your pants so you run back to the girl's dorm. The girls of course think you've spent the last couple of days shacking up with your boyfriend and ask the obvious, did it hurt? did it feel good? was he big or small?

Started up AQUA earlier, just finished chapter 1. I like it so far; the background art is really nice, and I'm liking the music. Characters seem like they'll be decent as well, and I have high hopes for Chisa considering she managed to completely side-step the whole "guy walks in on naked girl -> scream and hit him" trope and really didn't give much of a fuck. MC's mum is cool as well.

Also liking this scenario player, makes it really easy to go back to specific moments, and as you can see, it even shows how much you've read of a chapter and how much is left, and it even shows where there'll be event CGs.

Considering the high reviews it's been getting as well, I've got hope that this'll turn out to be pretty great.

Most new stuff is at the end in reminisence. And yeah Makoto and Sora routes branch right from the start to their own routes. Which both are quite different from the rest.

yeah, most of the normal/bad ends are usually better written and make more sense than the good ends. Sometimes it felt like the good ends are just there to make the game not so soul crushing depressing that it is at times. Especially due the thing that Kou pulls at the end of Sora route, which made me think so.

Finished 媚肉の香り～ネトリネトラレヤリヤラレ～.
Well, despite that I only found the main game decent, the last 'route' or how should I call it, the 媚肉の香織 chapter (pretty clever pun) was really really impressive. Kaori is probably the sluttiest girl I have ever seen in anything. Reading her insane craving for protag's cock after knowing his side of the story really made it a good game in my opinion. I really didn't suspect anything of the stuff happening behind the curtains. Really well thought set up for the story I'd say.
Anyway game needed more insane Matsutarou and easier replay function. Moreover I did not like Saya, the main heroine. She was probably the least favorite of the heroines after Yuki (fair enough, the last chapter shows why Yuki was such a bitchy girlfriend).

Still, the animated ero was one of the best I've seen (and I do play nukiges more often than scenario driven games), vast majority of the CGs were really pretty for people who don't mind the unique character designs, and it was worth reading for the the 媚肉の香織 chapter.
Also, it wasn't Netorare heavy as people would think in my opinion. Only stuff for netorare were the bad end with Matsutarou x Yuki, and the bad end at the climax if you screwed it up, and then most of the heroines gets gangraped (and enjoy it later of course).
There was a lot more Netori by far (again, that's due to the whole premise of the stuff you find out near last route, which made the earlier Netori stuff even better in my opinion). I guess I can agree that it's regarded as a good game.

It's "grimdark" pseudo-medieval fantasy, which is quite rare as a setting (for example the protagonist is best friends with a crime boss and doesn't mind the odd dirty job, most of the subcharacters you meet at first are prostitutes or ex-prostitutes -one of the heroines is as well-), the setting is thought out really well, the protagonist is voiced and is really badass, every character is quite "alive" and charming.
When I say pseudo-medieval, I mean that while there aren't mages casting fireballs, there isn't really any other way of fighting than with good old steel weapons and shit like that, there still are minor magic elements like floating cities and magic illnesses.
All this in glorious widescreen resolution. It's really promising, I guess there's no harm in trying it out if you like grim fantasy.

So I've nearly finished hanahira, really simple game, it's not bad for what it is. And I asked once but only got Axanael as a reply, which I've downloaded since. But, if anyone else has suggestions I'd appreciate it: What are simple simple and or short VNs that are at least decent? I'm still beefing up my vocab but I dunno if I wanna take on a 50+ hour game yet, i'd have to play 6 hours a day to get anywhere, not to mention the vocab study in-between argh. Or, if anyone actually thinks reading a colossal game like that would help, let me know too.

Just finished my first route on Bloody Rondo. It was pretty good.

The action parts are pretty entertaining to read but I wish there's more of it. They don't get resolved by power of love bullshit or sheer strength but by the protagonist' wits. To be honest though, most of the fights could've been easily won by them chucking grenades at the enemy but I guess that wouldn't make for an interesting read.

Also I didn't expected it to have a plot so I was surprised I found out it had one. It wasn't that generic too and it got resolved properly. Well there's a few loose ends but I don't know if they're really loose ends since I only played 1 route so far.

Unfortunately the game have a massive problem with the pacing. It had a pretty good start unfortunately they had to bog it down with way too many slice of life scenes afterwards. Even worse is that they keep running the same jokes during those scenes. It's also pretty juvenile, there's way too many innuendos. The pace picks up near the end of the game though.

All in all the game is a pretty entertaining read, if you have the patience to read through the slice of life scenes and are willing to suspend your disbelief.

Sorry I don't like chikan stuff so I passed on that. As a matter of fact I have not played anything from Atelier's Team Heartbeat, unlike Berkshire Yorkshire and Honky Tonk stuff (which I like the most). AKTH haven't made any stuff which would appeal to me much myself so far, though I do like their art.

Anyway it's kinda a shame Honky Tonk doesn't seem to want to use 1:02am anymore, he was my favorite artist from the entire company. (Not that I'm complaining, I do like the art of 坂上海 and 有栖川千里 too).

Well, I wasn't trying to argue on fetishes, as a matter of fact it even was my first chikan game, just "disappointing" isn't something I'd thought I'd have seen used for scd3, its production values are really high.
While it's a chikan game, it's not really hardcore molesting/rape, most heroines are just sexually repressed/frustrated/curious.

Started Paradise Lost since a new version was just released and I'm not sure if it was worth waiting for it since it looks like barely anything has changed. The art looks the same,side characters (everyone that isn't on the character page on the official website) still aren't voiced and there are very few effects.

Actually that's probably my main problem with it, while it has some pretty cool stuff (Which I guess is the point of a chuuni eroge) the presentation is very, very unexciting. So you get some stuff like Know fighting the cyborgs in the apartment during the second chapter. No CG, no one has a tachi-e, no one is voiced and there are barely any effects. So you get to read about how he does all sorts of badass stuff while staring at a kitchen background for 5 minutes.

Apart of that I like the game, the setting is pretty nice and Judas is all sorts of awesome, my favorite character so far.

Well yeah, as I said it isn't as Netorare heavy as some people make it out to be here (hurrdurr look, Netorare is even in the title). It's more of a Netori, given Kaori and all.
That said, the bad endings were rather nice, because the vast majority of them makes sense like what'd have happened if one of the scenarios Kaori schemed would have been successful in the end.
I agree, Otoha was my favorite heroine too (fav chara was Matsutarou though). The romance and how it developed between them with the sickness and all was quite sweet in my opinion, and she was quite cute heroine. Of course her ending wasn't so good since she's quite unrelated to the main story after all.

Seriously, the whole point of the VN was for Taichi to understand that even though he's human he can still cross with other people, but since he hurts everyone around him by default(thus hurting himself), staying on that world was the best life he could lead. It's sad for us, but Taichi had a a.c. of over 80%, he's not your average person.

I liked that part of it too, it really gave sense of growth to Kous skill level. as in reminesence mode you have some weird weapon setup, move slower and no boosters. and then in the end game you zip around the battlefield with boosters and land magnificent combos and take on massive ammounts of enemies like a fucking pro mercanary.

yeah that scene was just golden, along with the scene where Mohawk smashes Gilbert with motherfucking rocket launcher. Oh yeah, Mohawk is bro-tier character. Also the fight with notMako- I mean Dominion Miko was pretty great moment too with the new BGM at that scene. Also Seira trolling Gregory. and revelation of Kous simulacra were among my favorite Aki route moments.

Finished Achimuite Koi, well one route anyway (Imouto route). It was ok. As a trap game it was disappointing, a lot went unexplored, maybe in another route.

As an incest game it was disappointing, your sister is cute but there's absolutely no opposition to your porking her because nobody even knows you're related because they think she's the sister of your female counterpart (except 2 people that don't care). There is a bit of interest because when she finally confesses to the MC (they were pretending to be dating to get one of the crazier girls off his back and she couldn't take it anymore and confesses) he tells her that's pretty creepy and rejects her. That was ok, she went around in a dazed mopey sad state you would expect of someone that got rejected by someone they loved. Until finally several days later some guy is trying to hit on her and he can't stand it, realizes he's in love with her after all, tells the guy to back off from his girlfriend (everyone believed they were 'dating' and that she was dumped) and takes her away. That was cute.

It's a mediocre game, there are better trap games out there. Maybe I'll play another route, they should have done that better and there are certainly better incest titles out there than this one. Play it if you think the girls are cute.

At least the start of the game was hilarious. They couldn't keep it going though.

And if you don't want the happy end, you can stop at Soras normal end, as you need to see it before you can get the true end.

the one thing about trap games that makes them interesting is the fact that the MC needs to cover his true identity, then after the heroines find out that he's actually a guy they have problem accepting it.
love it when a heroine turns full tsundere towards the MC right when she find out he's a guy.

Which was why it was disappointing, on the imouto route there's only 3 girls that don't know he's a trap and they're a non issue.

I was going to try the purple haired girl's route because she was distributing pictures of the MC as a trap to other students but I ended up uninstalling it, I just don't have the motivation.
