I've only managed to lucid dream a handful of times, it's usually when I recognize "Hey I'm in a dream" and then something fundamental changes about the dream experience, it's kind of like a feeling of extreme power, but it's hard to wield effectively you have to be real subtle about what you're doing, and the more you start to think and utilize your consciousness the more you start to come back to yourself
