Clannad's and Gentle Jena from Planetarian were pretty good. Crescendo's was nice. Animamundi's wasn't bad. Saya had some atmospheric/emotional stuff that suited it.

Sengoku Rance OST is the obvious superior choice here. That and Umineko.

Symphonic Rain OST is probably the best one I know of, closely followed by Kikokugai.
I rather like True Remembrance's too.
