Any of you NEETs manage to get hired? How did you do it with no references/experience?

My family is running red right now. I felt really bad for the first time about my family. I always feel bad about myself, and how the public sees me, but I've always gleefully blocked out the family shame. I guess this was a wake up call. I let my father have the money I had in the bank, and I want to get a job to help him pay the bills. My older brother for whatever reason never gives my father any money, and has yet to get more than a very part time job (which he got about 5 years ago and hasn't moved up or gotten a better job since getting).

I need to at lease get a part time job at McDonalds. But i'm 2.5 years out of High School with no references or job experience. What am I supposed to do? I feel like if I go up to a McDonalds, ask to see the manager, and tell him to hire me I'll get laughed out of there due to my failure at life.

Looking for input. /adv/ is no help.

I write spells and summon familiars for a living. People pay for my services online. I'm currently working on a potion to send people to Gensokyo, and once I patent it, I'll probably make enough money to live the rest of my life off of. But I've run into difficulty finding an ingredient. It's hard to find Saliva of Pure Hearted Maiden nowadays. I only need one sample to mass produce this, but no matter how hard I look I can't find it.

Oh well, at least I earn enough money for ramen and bread. Not the healthiest diet, but it keeps me alive.

I don't know what made them hire me at my last job. I wasn't social and didn't have any references or anything. After a few months of working there, it was almost like I was working with my father. One of the managers asked me to download some movies for him and set up utorrent for him so he could download stuff at work. That was atleast two years ago. It was fun working there. The people weren't bad and neither was the actual work. Whenever I visit the place and see them there they tell me that if I'm ever looking for work I can always come back and work there. It almost feels like I'm a friend of theirs.

I guess you've just got to make a connection.

I scrub Patchouli's smelly feet every hour while she reads a book. She doesn't mind if I lick and suck a little, as long as I get the job done, so it's all good. In fact, she's so buried into her book that she doesn't even notice when I'm cleaning. The other day I used the soles of her feet to masturbate and she didn't even so much as glance at me. She just turned pages with an unchanged expression as if I wasn't even there. It's almost the end of the hour, so this time I'll see how she reacts if I pull off her bloomers and rub the tip of my penis against her clit.

Entry level jobs don't care about previous experiance or qualifications. The only real problem is that they're generally more interested in younger people they can pay less for the same work, so age can count against you. If you have friends or family you can ask them to help land you a job somewhere. Personal connections make a big difference.

Of course even if you get a job it probbably won't be something you'll enjoy and then you'll wind up bored, angry, and bitter. You'll spiral into a depression and even quitting won't help, because you're right back at sqaure one.

After you've worked a couple of them if you left on good terms you can use them as references for better jobs or just continually hop around till a good opportunity comes along. The biggest thing is just applying for everything you might be able to do, even if you don't want to, or think you can do it well, just give it a chance. I found myself in a similar situation last year and in the end I got an apprenticeship at a Bakery. I don't know how America works with it, but where I live there's government incentives for businesses to take on apprentices so it's at least worth a shot. It doesn't take long to get used to working night shift, there's nbot much talking and it's just the same thing every night, plus the pay's not to bad.

Internet applications have a notoriously high failure rate. It's when you try to get work to fifty places in person and don't succeed that you should start reconsidering what you're doing.

One of my parents applied to somewhere around a hundred places for her first entry-level work position in the United States before getting work as a dishwasher. Especially in this retarded economy, not getting work somewhere doesn't necessarily indicate that you seem like you'd be a terrible employee.

I got transferred from state to state with promotions, and now I am currently the food court manager, packing out 48k a year, but I hate my job. I've found I'm great at management though. God I lol'd earlier when people thought $400 was cheap. Where I live that's a pretty standard rate. But what you're really talking about is a $1600 apartment for 4 people including Internet / utilities.

I know of a place I can get a 3 person apartment for $350 / month + utilities. I'd never live there though cause it's really far away from the college but I have a friend who is living there by himself.

I can't recommend this to anyone. I'm far from being a neet, but to do commissions effectively you need a lot of clients = a lot of socialisation (in places like DA). If it's too much for me, it's probably too much for a neet. Also, getting to the level where you'll be good enough that people pay for your work is hard.
