How the hell am I supposed to get a PC-FX emulator going? I've tried a few, I even have that magic engine thing. But when I mount the disk it simply will not load. Won't recognise it even. Can't burn the discs because they are over 700mb..

btw, those guys had a similar problem

>Just throwing this out there real quick for anyone who is having trouble with the NO CD thing, what tends to work for me is I boot up MagicEngine without the disc mounted, then I go ahead and mount the disc while the emulator is running and wait a few minutes. After a while MagicEngine will suddenly pop up to the front of my windows and the CD will be recognized.

You're using Magic Engine FX and not just vanilla Magic Engine, right? Try out various games, some just don't work.

I was never able to get Mednafen to work.

For Xe, you're going to need to find the PC-FX BIOS, IIRC. Good luck with that. But it does work with a lot of games that ME-FX doesn't, like Der Langrisser FX.

For Xe:

Make a folder in the Xe directory called BIOS and throw the PC-FX BIOS in there. Alternatively go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\xe\bios and throw it in there. If you don't already have the BIOS, you're going to have to do some heavy digging to find it (it's just called "pcfx.rom").

Test it out by opening Xe, go to File -> Start Machine -> PC-FX. It should boot.

Now, you have an image mounting program like Daemon Tools, right? Look at what the drive letter is (i.e. E:, F:, G:, etc.). Open up Xe and go to Edit -> Settings -> Options. Under "CD-ROM", delete "default" and type in the drive letter and colon used by Daemon Tools (E:, F:, G:). Restart Xe.

Mount an image with Daemon Tools or whatever you're using. In Xe, go to File -> Insert Compact Disc. Click the "CD-ROM" bullet. It will look under the path you just specified in the previous step. Under the Machine dropdown, hit PC-FX, then hit OK.

PC-FX should boot and run your game.

I have an old old daemon. It will probably not work with the latest game software. I guess I'll have to try it.
