Dear /jp/,

First of all, I want to apologize for being a lazy fuck and not doing this through google, but I have no idea where to start.

Basically: As much as I love Touhou, it is simply not a game I can show to other people without getting shit on and marked as a faggot, and I would love to discuss some (hard) shooters with people from my uni.

What I want is names of shooters that are hard, but don't have little girls in them (replaced by generic spaceships, maybe?)

You could just try to search for danmku or bullet hell shooters...
But i don`t see any reasons to not introduce your friends to touhou
You can barely see the little girls in the game, and you don`t even have to give a shit to them if your focus is the game, not them.

When you're starting out on a harder game like DDP DOJ and Ketsui, you need to watch some good replays of it, they're not exactly games where you can just wing it, you need to learn how to chain and get the best out of the hyper system in DOJ (the better you play, the more lives you get) and in Ketsui you need to make sure you 100% know how to deal with the tricky boss patterns and know the safest stage routes.

If you can't even play Touhou on a difficulty that would make normal people think you're fucking crazy (anything past Normal) then you have no chance at anything harder, so just deal with it.

This. My brother walked in on me doing Marisa on Lunatic (it was obviously a replay, I don't waste my time on such easy things). He was like, "This game looks gay, blah blah blah, Halo Reach, blah blah, etc..". He died on mid stage wriggle on normal. I owned him so hard.

on my very first try of any touhou game I at least got to Kogasa, and by the end of playing that day to Murasa.

That's one hell of a difficulty spike for someone who's never played it.

Since then I've 1cc'd Nue, Koishi, and Flandre, so anyone whose mind sparked the notion of my identity as a secondary can eat shit.

My plan was to do them while stuck here in Finland but SOMEHOW I ended up with the only laptop so SHITTY that it won't run Touhou without slowdown out the ass

Now I've gotta wait a full 5 months before I can do so much as try to 1'cc the others.
