That's because age isn't as much of a dealbreaker in western countries -- look at shit like Sex in the City, Cougartown, Bridget Jones's Diary -- still being single and over 25 is acceptable in western countries, and perhaps even actively encouraged. I'm no sociologist, so I can't say why, but that certainly seems to be the way it is.

I suppose it may be, in part, due to feminist movements and the sheer fact that people are happier and less worried as they age, generally. (see http://theweek.com/article/index/207030/5-surprising-new-facts-about-aging )
