I already did check nearly all methods that were supposed to be certain, and still I'm alive. I can't even come close to recently washed clothes because of scent of bleach reminding me of failed bleach portals. I drank more coffee and took more medicines than I did in my life. I feel terrible ;_;

Making a youkai cherry tree is very easy, you just need to find a regular cherry tree and feed it a lot of human blood. They're naturally found in battlefields for that very reason.

You might be youkai already. There are a few instances of people not knowing their supernatural heritage, especially in case of rokurokubi. Those are harmless spooks with the ability to stretch their necks, and during the night they sometimes "sleepwalk" entirely with the head, the body remaining behind thanks to the extensible neck. So if you're one of those and don't know it, you end up having frequent, creepy dreams about your head running off around.

Check the cherry trees in the neighbourhood for those that bleed when cut, this is the sign that gives away those vampire trees. If you also feel pain upon cutting the tree, then congratulations, you're a youkai and that tree is your real body.

Technically they're not entirely wrong. As a loose comparison, think of a brain as if it were a computer.

As it loses power calculations become unstable, memory reads unreliable - maybe only getting partial data or reading the wrong sectors entirely. RAM stops refreshing correctly and reads result in whatever data was there beforehand being dumped rather than what's supposed to be - probably related to the last thing you were doing.

In essence, if your brain were shutting down while the majority of your thought was dedicated to reaching Gensokyo - it's entirely possible, likely even, that you'd find yourself there. When the Large Hadron Collider was switched on short lived portals to Gensokyo sprang up around the world, those that have crossed over used these warp points to make it. Some fell in by accident while others sought them out for weeks.

However approximately 261 hours after the LHC's activation the last of these portals closed, permanently. After that many portals were opened Reimu and Yukari were forced to strengthen the barrier again to avoid Gensokyo falling back into our world and losing it's magical cohesion. Gensokyo's great Hakurei barrier won't be in phase with our world for another 200 years.

If you're talking about a callosotomy, that's performed on epileptics, not schizophrenics, and is done under standard general anesthesia regimens, which are extremely amnestic. Ketamine might cause such an episode, but it's rarely used alone, partly for that reason. You're more likely to find a perception of timelessness in those who undergo actual near-death experience by blood lows or someone well experienced hallucinogens. Certainly people with schizophrenia (and Parkinson's, ADHD, and others) have measurable deficits in temporal perception, but I assume they're not the kind of differences you mean.
