As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

if I had to guess, it's because it's not very lyrical or dynamic and it's sort of harsh. Meanwhile her stage theme is just the opposite. A lot of arrangements are in styles that work better with the 2nd kind of song, and it's just more appealing or something even though the other one sounds cool.

So, to make room for the C79 songs, I'm gonna have to clean up some songs. Obviously, I will be hunting for doubles to free up space. However, I was also planning to remove a few other songs by a few rules. Here's my current idea:

Delete every song from C78 that has been played 1 or 0 times
Delete every song that has been played 0 times and has been uploaded for more then 2 weeks
Delete every song that isn't tagged at all (no title, artist AND album)

I'm not deleting these songs yet, as I still gotta prepare the scripts and such. Just wanted to hear your opinion on this and let you know our plans so you can prepare...

I'd use requests rather than plays. But I think it's probably a good measure. If they've not been played ever, then why have them? Someone can just re-upload them later when they want to hear them again.

As for missing the data, I can see making a case for keeping it if someone's made a bunch of requests for that particular track. But then they know what it is and should be able to at least tell you how to fix it, so...

Yeah, it was already posted. I had to shink it to use on 4chan because it was too large. The tags are usually fine, that's why it's usually relatively easy to recover magibake tags, the initial data is still there, just not in a format SAM can use. On some rare cases, a song really does get messed up beyond repair (usually a bunch of シ’ｓ appear in it, oddly enough), but that's from am error that occurs during the upload, not SAM butchering the tags.

Nothing to do with SAM. The tag is fine, but one of UTF-8 or Shift-JIS. Set your browser's encoding to UTF-8. If it is, then that tag was in Shift-JIS and WinAmp somehow figured it out and changed the encoding to display it (which is actually quite amazing). If you see mojibake, you can change your browser to Shift-JIS and that part will be correct with everything else being wrong.

Well, people have different tastes. I haven't touched admin skip too much since Pyonta implemented the voteskip function, I do pluck songs from the queue now and then though, but we haven't had too much of a problem with a spam of certain songs.

There are no janitors, pretty much just Pyonta and I. My skips sometimes aren't noticed because I either pull songs from the queue before they're played, or I skip around the start of the song (but it takes a few seconds for the skip to go through to SAM), so it might be assumed that it was a voteskip.

I listen to the stream almost all day when I'm not reading a VN or watching anime, so if I hear Lady Gaga or see it coming up, I certainly won't let it play. Certain things I let slide so long as they don't start getting spammed. Boris is Japanese, so even if you don't like them it's not exactly unrelated. Just not your type of listening.

I can't say if the auto-tagger's been working since I don't use it. But my guess is the people who should be using it are the ones who won't know to check the box, so I'd say it should be on by default.
