Will you give R07 another chance, when his next series comes out?

>> No.6799444

never again
I'll wait for it to end, then play it knowing what to expect

>> No.6799445

I liked Higurashi.
I liked Umineko (yet to read ep8 though as I don't know Japanese).
So, well, why wouldn't I give "another chance" to him?

>> No.6799443

Of course I will. After all, he will fix all of Umineko in Rei and explain everything and give us the real ending.

>> No.6799447

R07 Touhou work

>> No.6799455

Never been too much of a fan of his in the first place.
The ookami kakushi thing was pretty horrible, too.

>> No.6799457

I just hope he won't ruin Rewrite too much.
I don't care much about him otherwise, there are enough VNs released with or without him.

>> No.6799459

Umineko was horrible.
Ōkami Kakushi animu was horrible.
I liked Higurashi

Yeah, I'll give him a chance.

>> No.6799463

Even if his stories end horribly, I love the buildup of suspense early on. So yes, I probably will.

I heard that his next work was supposed to be set 'somewhere cold'. Anyone have any sauce on that? Perhaps he said it in a blog?

>> No.6799478

>I don't like Higurashi.
>Neither Ookamikakushi
>The Hibangana thing makes me sick
>Love Umineko but there is a lot of disappointing stuff, mainly in chiru and reaching the highest point in dat end.

The chances are 90% not reading his next series, the premise must be something very relevant to my interests, and he already used the classic Western setting...

It was so fucking horrible, you played all the episodes to the end knowing you could have quit anytime halfway through. You must really like torturing yourself.

Yes because he always starts great, then fuck up in the answer arcs.

>Okami Kakushi animu was horrible.
I enjoyed it. It's certainly not exactly great,
but it deserved better than those about 1000 sales/BD.
Character design and soundtrack outshine the story by far, though.

Who told you he read every episode?
I quit in episode 4 myself, though I read a bit of episode 5 to see Erika.

I'm just saying, some people might find themselves reading through all of it even though they supposedly hate it, and before they know it, they were just lying to themselves. They actually love it but just can't admit it.

Umineko wasn't horrible as people claim it was. I know it's a matter of taste but it wasn't a complete faliure. Heck, it wasn't even a faliure in my opinion.

>> No.6799509

>>6799490

I think it started well, but in the middle it became shittier, the plot and the end made no sense.

Stop imagining things. I've dropped it at the beginning of 5th episode.
First two were genuinely enjoyable, third was kind of "wat", fourth looked like a joke episode, with breaking 4th wall and stuff, I thought maybe it'll be back to normal at 5th. Didn't happen.

>> No.6799518

I'll read it anyway. It will probably start out great, I'll enjoy it while it lasts, like with Umineko.

That's Ryukishi for you.

Reading everything doesn't mean you love it.
I completed lots of mediocre to average eroge, I wouldn't say I loved them.
Umineko read itself easily and it's not like it takes that much time, just a few hours every 6 months.
Especially since VNs available in english are rare enough, there is absolutely nothing strange about the fact that most people read it to completion and even those who aren't the greatest fans.

And the reason why I give up on his stuff.

>> No.6799533

>>6799508
Some people just like to finish things and not leave them half-finished, it's more like ocd than "interest".
Which is why Umineko proved to be excruciatingly painful for me to follow, I knew I didn't care much for it but still had to wait 6+ months between each episode. The emotion I felt at the ending was relief and "oh god finally", mainly.

Don't get started on that.
Only the Queen Carrier theory was disproved. What causes Hinamizawa Syndrome is still likely parasites.

I'm more interested in how much his autistic skills will improve with the next When They Cry character sprites.

>> No.6799640

No, likely not. There are many other satisfying doujin vns out there.
