I'm sitting here with Valkyria Chronicles idle in book mode and I can't stop subconsciously whistling to its tune, so it got me curious as to what /jp/'s favorite Japanese game OST's were. Besides VC, the last game I played which I actually have the OST for is Ace Combat 6 and have enjoyed the hell out of it. What soundtracks have you all really liked not only in-game but also out?

I have the entire SaGa osts, although they are of varying quality. Shadow Hearts I, Chrono Cross / Trigger / & that Radical Dreamers Eminence thing, VP2 + a few other Motoi Sakuraba things, Silent Hill set, FF6 / Black Mages / AC, .hack//sign, Grandia II, NieR.

conclusion: almost nothing new. Mostly ps1/2 stuff.

Ace combat 4 and 5 were some of the best flight fight games ever made, and their music was amazing.

6 not so much.

If you speed up the Simcity 3000 tracks by about 120% they sound like something from Ace Combat.
