2ndary, only anime

>> No.6767614

1) It has a good story. Oh, no, wait. Not story, the other thing. Soundtrack.
2) Willard H. Wright, mother hubbard.
3) Siesta/Chiester sisters. Bunnygirls are always good.
4) Seven Stakes of Purgatory. Also good.

I like the music.

Because it's good.

When did I say I liked Umineko?

>> No.6767824

The meta bullshit screwed it up big time. It isn't fun watching people act like fools with goofy smiles and bad airy music playing. There's no fear involved.

It wasn't supposed scare, it was only a bonus.

>> No.6768450

Crazy mindfucks, multi-layered story-line who gives challenge to watcher/reader and MOTHEFUCKA RED VS BLUE WAR.
It's totally awesome. Best anime/VN/SN I ever seen.
IT'S PAAAFECUTO!

it has a lot of incest

Because it's a masterpiece. I know we all hate it when our gems gain the attention of unwanted faggots, but it's amazing nevertheless. Deal with it.

It's my first VN, that's why I like it.
When I'm done, I look forward to another VN where the characters don't start every sentence with "That's right".

>> No.6769972

1. I enjoy the discussions related to it.
2. I find the characters interesting and mostly likable.
3. The OST is awesome, the atmosphere in general is awesome (big thanks to the great OST).
4. Well, even if the story isn't "good", its still fairly interesting. Trying to get what is going on is fun.
>>6767824
That is one of the things I liked - I am not a fan of horror stuff, though. It feels serious enough during the serious scenes.

>> No.6769982

Mindfucks. Mindfucks everywhere.

In the first few chapters before beatrice appeared I thought it was quite scary. The whole "this isn't based on a true story" the existence of certain unknown elements, the theory of the heart being able to see what the 5 senses can't perceive. The epitaph, the family feel of all the characters, giving great backgrounds to all of them, solidifying their presence. Gold and greed, human nature, the fucking soundtrack.

Really, how can you not like it? Yeah the fanbase is shit, get over it.

>> No.6769987

1-4 for Beato's trolling and music
5-7 for Lambda, Bern, Erika and logical battles.

And I hate generic high school VNs with self insert MC.

Cool special effects like close ups on sprites

>> No.6769994

fun read, great soundtrack but even when I enjoyed the ride until now I feel a little disappointed with the recent developments

just a matter of asking ourselves is this the route he planned the whole time? I really don't know then again Ive yet to read the ep

The episodes being stories are something we've known since episode one, Yasu's motive was found out with hints in episode one as well. I can't think of anything he didn't plan.

I'm pretty sure Umineko is one big experiment for Ryu.

You know that the "Umineko sucks" fad has gone too far when people insinuate that of all things you can say bad about Umineko, you insult the BGM.

>> No.6770018

>>6770009
What kind of experiment? To see how much bullshit his readers are willing to put up with?
It seems kinda silly to experiment when he's still building his reputation as a writer.

>> No.6770019

The characters, premise, red text and soundtrack.
Especially for delicious battler x beato and ahaha.wav.

>> No.6770023

original draw was the creepy atmosphere and mystery elements (mainly in episodes 1-2, it was severely downplayed after those ones).

After that it was mainly the interesting story and plot twists, however by episode 6 and 7 it's getting old and I'm sort of happy for it to end.

Also the music, fanart, and theory discussions were pretty cool. Half the fun of umineko was discussing theories on /jp/

>What kind of experiment?
EP2, going full fantasy mode was a very bold move after making people believe Umineko would be a full mystery

The BGM isn't really that great. Some scenes have terrible music, some have good/decent music.

Very informative.
In any case, the bad music I'm referring to would be those terribly airy-sounding stuff that plays in a lot of the meta scenes which have no substance.

>> No.6770062

>>6770045
Maybe if you stopped reading after episode 1. Even ep1 soundtrack alone is top-tier (compared to other VN soundtracks obviously, we aren't talking about classical music here), and by episode 8 it's like eight top-tier soundtracks combined, and mind that the best tracks appeared after episode 1.

>> No.6770067

>>6770059
But isn't it perfect for those scenes?

>> No.6770069

>>6770059
The meta scenes were terrible and lacked substance. If you think of it that way, the music fits pretty well.

>> No.6770072

>>6770069
Actually it makes it even more unreadable. I feel like shooting 07 for even thinking something like that could be good.
