You can try rotating the SFX a bit to make it look better.
Something like this I think, don't know how to illustrate what I'm trying to say

Seriously though, "I've got some kind of growth on my butt." Could have been the whole comic for me. Comedy gold.

I think it looks better if they're tilted in different directions. You'll see this on the original if you look closely.

But personally I never bother with sound effects for a couple of reasons:
1. Some of them are practically untranslatable, especially in porn where you got like a million different sounds for various kinds of wetness. And it feels best to be consistent, so when you have to skip some, it's best to skip all.
2. Most of the time, it's a huge pain to edit them out, and will take you time that you could spend on translating more stuff instead.
3. Personally, I never even read the sound effects, and I don't think I'm the only one here. Usually you can see what they're trying to express simply by how the words are written, and 99% of the time it won't add anything anyway, beyond "oh, her anus said kyun, that means it did a slight reflexive contraction, that's cute".

Many translators have someone else do their editing. Well, some translator's putting their work on Danbooru with no editing work? I'll go ahead and do this super easy tedious work.

>> No.6767849

>>6767747
It's appropriate. When you've mastered Japanese, you have more value as a person than everyone else, and thus your time is worth much more than that of ordinary plebian weeaboos. Therefore, plebians should offer their services in any part of a translation project that you don't need to know Japanese to do, because even a few seconds saved for the translator means they are able to dedicate more work to their sacred craft.

Regardless of the heavy irony in your post, the rational is essentially in line with my motivation.

The number of people able to preform copy editing like I am is far larger than the set of people able to translate these comics. Furthermore, if the translation has been completed and is sitting around, it doesn't makes sense to demand a translator do the editing work.

Additionally, distributed voluntary collaborative projects like translating fan work 4komas also benefit just as much from intelligent resource management as organized projects do. If you were managing a translation project would you have the translators do copy editing? Then if you are a volunteer translator you should refrain from copy editing, as long as it's likely another volunteer can provide that service.

I bet no one wanted any of that information and I bet no one will read that wall of text.

HERE, HAVE ANOTHER COMIC

>> No.6767988

For some reason, the text still isn't coming out that nicely.

>> No.6768017

>>6767988
I noticed that too, though I cheated with this latest strip. Generally, the text is coming out slightly jaggy though. But especially the smaller text in the recent comics. The Chen comic though, I resized the text by image scaling which warps and excessively anti=aliases the text.

>> No.6768155

>Besides incompetence
It's true...

I don't offer anything over going to danbooru, but translations set directly on the image can be moved to place other than danbooru and retain their translation. Danbooru translations can't be transported easily or printed or saved to your hard drive any number of other handy things. I'm not claiming to be offering an invaluable service, just not a useless one.

All you have to do is get Photoshop, and when you do the textbox, have it set as smooth.
