I am guessing people are done trying it out for the sake of trying it out, which could in a sense be a good thing.

But now when people have some experience with the game, how does it compare to your expectations prior to the release?
And how does it compare to your standards?

In either case, there doesn't seem to be nearly as many players playing anymore.

It's better than Soku. I don't know but it needs a bit of.. polishing. Hitstun is kinda weird for some moves (they whiff). Overall i'm satisfied with the game as a whole because the core mechanics are there but I'm somewhat disappointed that some characters with fight scenes were snubbed

It bothered me at first that the combos seemed terribly small and limited but I suppose it just takes getting used to switching between characters during combos. Still a few more mixup options would be gladly accepted.

Being unable to bind keys to the keyboard through the game itself (without a patch) is only making a difficult way of playing pretty much impossible and is really poor work from 07th.

Other than that it's a solid game with original mechanics which work surprisingly well that is plagues by the low number of characters and balance issues that all new franchises start with.

A lot of people stopped playing because the netplay is shit, as has been mentioned many times before.

Not worth it spending time trying every connection posting hoping that you won't disconnect within the first few seconds, and even if you don't, you still have to worry about getting a decent fps. Better to just wait for a patch or something.

1: Plays perfectly.
2: Plays SLOW AS FUCK
3: Disconnects 5 seconds into the match.

I've been getting mostly perfect games playing within my area, with the odd laggy game or disconnect. I'm not even sure what causes some of them.

Are you kidding? With the exception of Beato and Battler EVERYONE else has a combo section. Even Ronove. If anything, he's one of the least developed on the wiki.

Anyway, the frame data on 410's page is a nice touch. I hope the other character pages get the same treatment.

So I'm using remotejoy and a PS3 controller to play this game.

I've gotten so far as setting actual command buttons but the movement keys are mapped to my arrow keys. I've had no luck when attempting to change it.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious here or do I need to take extra steps to get this to properly work~

On another note, never EVER try playing a fighter using something akin to the D-pad on a 360. I end up pulling shit I never meant to do and screwing me up when trying to combo into shit.

I use this (well, technically, the 3-in-1 rather than the 2-in-1, but I have neither a PS2 nor a PS3 so it doesn't really matter), but then again I didn't buy it with fighting games in mind. And any trouble I have with pulling off attacks in fighting games I also had with my old gamepad, which had a not-as-good D-pad, so it's just me not being good at the timing or at doing the half- and quarter-circles properly.

Don't know why people put Ronove in low tier. He's perfect when playing against rushdown characters, and he can turn the tide of the battle drastically with his counters and reversals. His sidestep is also very useful for getting around characters that like to sit back and spam projectiles like Virgilia and Chiester410.

People do realize he's supposed to be a defensive character, right?

Considering how huge the bars are, the meter gains plus good damage coming from tag+metaworld shenanigans, turtling does not work well in the game. If Rovone goes metaworld, the opponent has no eason to even TRY to get close to you (for you to take advantage of the ability which does not help other characters much).
On a 1vs 1 situation, he would be good, but as it is? Not so much

I'm not buying an arcade stick just for this. I got the pad that I currently have just to play the Touhou STG's and it works fine...but doing anything requiring a half or quarter circle makes me end up either using a backwards attack (which sucks with Lucifer...I end up breaking the combo by turning into a Stake) or doing a low strike.

That and I prefer playing fighting games with a thumbstick. I played SCII on Wii and Xbox, so that's what I'm used to.

What stick? The only thing this thing has is a D-pad. It works, it's just harder to get it to read stuff I want it to do. It's also a case of me moving too fast with the buttons, but I'm much more comfortable using a thumbstick anyway.

I have problems dealing damage as Shannon, but I can control the fight for nearly forever with proper barrier placement. Who would be a good partner for her? I'm told Battler, Beatrice and Ange are good choices.

Kinda staying away from Kanon and Lucifer. Don't want to break my thumbs just yet.

I'm using Win7 32bit/64bit however after installing the game I can't get it to start. The program simply doesn't start whether from the launcher or by clicking gamemain.exe. No error message either.

I tried Japanese locale, reinstalling but neither worked. Any ideas?

Best way to win:

Battler + Virgilia.

Hit your opponent until Virgilia's SP is full. Then switch and try to meta. If your opponent deny, force it. When you are in meta, you'll gain some HP + 1 SP, so you'll also fill Virgilia's SP faster.

Spam 641236C with Virgilia. Everytime you do it, the meta timer will stop, so you'll gain some extra time while making strong shots to your opponent.

When the meta is over, switch to Battler and refill Virgilia's gauge. Repeat and repeat until your opponent dies. If your opponent try to meta, deny it with Battler.

By the way, if your opponent meta first and Virgilia's gauge is not full yet, just allow it to happen and block all your oponen't attack until it ends.

It works.

Good Games. Lucifer's rekka is really tough to get out in netplay, or maybe it's just my pad. Not sure what advice I could give out, besides blocking low is really good 80% of the time, and if somebody is dashing at you on wakeup, you can likely grab them out of the dash, provided they don't jump.

Fist time in a match(not even against CPU). I wish practice had recovery options, Battlers strings that end with the Fingers suddenly are not that appealing .
Also, Metaworld inputs did not go through most the time, I guess it should be binded in a single button?
