I know. But if I at least post a picture with the original pixiv filename I make the person downloading it the favor of knowing the exact page where I got it. You can use the pixiv file name to find the image's page and thus also find the the artist's page.

Plus, far from everything worthwhile on pixiv gets reposted. If I post a picture I know I got off pixiv the chances are higher that it's a picture not many people have viewed yet.

I never download pictures from Danbooru anymore, since I just want to go and find the pixiv original even if I do. I don't like Danbooru very much aside from the translations they offer, so I try to not use it for browsing pictures.

Also yes, I am autistic. This is serious business.

Most serious people use iqdb or equivalent instead of bothering to copypaste the filename. Don't worry about it.

I use danbooru when I don't feel like wading through pages of shit to find decent pictures, but that's it. Just saving stuff from imageboards is faster... I used to hate doing that, then I realized nobody cares where I get pictures from.

If you are only using the search function only on Pixiv I might as well say that you're doing it wrong. The best thing is to go from artist to artist through favorites to keep finding pictures of characters you like. Of course you can use the search function to get started, but most Pixiv artist are lazy taggers. That is the only part where Danbooru is clearly superior.

Also, while you are absolutely right, the pixiv names are mostly for my own sake. That way I know that it's not a picture I found on Danbooru meaning it might be of higher interests to others, since most of us are aware of what's on Danbooru already.

Well, there's a lot of shit on Danbooru as well, or at least I think so. And even when browsing an artists on Pixiv you can also click the tags available to toggle content.

Agreed, but there's less shit on danbooru.

I've found the most efficient way to get images is searching and clicking the character name if the artist ha drawn enough of them for it to show up. That way I don't have to see any other characters and still get mostly good pictures.

Each to their own. I mainly just think the Danbooru selection is very repetitive and predictable, and I never get the feeling that I'm wading through shit when I'm on Pixiv... The only drawback is that there is so much art; each artist has like 100+ pages of favorites, and I can never go through all of them.

There's also a whole lot of manga, 4koma and other online webcomics on pixiv that never gets reposted on Danbooru...
