A young British man reports a robbery that took place at his home.

He tells the policeman taking the initial report that the stolen items include his microwave, his coin collection, an antique vase, his TV, his blu-ray player/game console along assorted blu-ray discs and games, a bottle of expensive prescription medicine, two items of jewelry and a single unused electric toothbrush. He reports the thief as dark-haired, dressed in black pants and a brown shirt.

Upon hearing this, the policeman immediately makes an arrest. Who did he apprehend, and why?
