So everything actually happened, except for all the magic bullshit, which at first was thought to be Hachijo's fiction, and now we know Hachijo was actually Battler's penname while trying to sort out is memories.

I did not enjoy the journey after a certain point cause a great amount of characterizations proves to be bogus/ambiguous. I was hoping the conclusion would more solidly confirm some of it, but it mostly blows it to hell.
The main/plt mystery already went to hell many episodes ago, but after episode 6, characters and interactions were ruined.
So yes, they have EVERY reason to dislike how 1/8th of the sage is and how it affects the overall story.

But in the corner of dying mind, she heard a voice. It was Battler. "I will take your sin as my own.". These words stuck into her like an icepick.

Her sins were not atoned for. If Battler were to carry her sins; how could she atone for them here?

Then a Miracle happened. Beatrice, who had been dead for the last few seconds, awoke. Her heart stopped beating. Far from drowning, it was the shock that had "killed" her.

Beatrice put all her might into her legs and barely managed to make it out of the water, on a piece of driftwood. Battler's boat was already speeding out into the distance.

Beato held onto the driftwood, until finally another boat approached. Apparently a sea captain had gone out for a nostalgic trip and seen a trail of smoke.

When Beatrice got to Niijima, there was no sign of Battler. Eventually he found Battler had been taken by in by a young woman, who handed him over to her nurse friend that worked at the local hospital.

Battler did not recognise her.

She broke down in tears; now Battler would go on carrying her sin, forever scarred by her death, and not even remember her.

Beatrice spoke with the nurse and the woman.

"Please, help him remember. Help him remember that all that happened, and that I am not dead. Or else it will destroy him without him knowing what it is. When he does, I will return. When he remembers; call me and I will reappear."

If only Beatrice had been a real witch, she could help Battler and truly atone for her sins.

The "nurse" smiled at her.

2 was pretty good, 4 was great once the Ange/Maria backstory bullshit was over, and 6 gets a lot of flack but honestly I think I had the most fun reading it out of any EP 7 revealed a lot, but it wasn't terribly enjoyable to read on the whole.

I'm sorry none of the shit everyone is talking about makes sense to me, I don't get this ep 8 info.
I've been folllowing along since ep 7.
I thought I'd wait but I couldn't take it and decided to see some ep 8 spoilers, but none of this shit makes sense.
I went to /a/, and now I got lead to here to get answers but now its becoming more of a cluster fuck. Can someone, anyone explain what happened in ep 8 that has made everything so crazy?
