Yuka gets misrepresented as a sadist. She doesn't enjoy killing people, it's just that sometimes she feels she has to. It's absurd to apply human labels such as "sociopathic" to a creature with an alien mind, after all. All she wants is to tend to the flowers and wear ridiculous shoes in peace.

Flandre's destructive...or at least Akyuu says so. What's more believable than her being a destructive psychopath is a sweet girl who doesn't know her own strength and accidentally breaks stuff. I think it's mentioned that she constantly breaks her own toys, so that's not too far off the mark.

Oh, and to prove a point, her actual character description from EoSD:

She is a vampiric magical girl and has been the Scarlet Devil's younger sister for about 495 years.

She's kind of nuts and isn't usually allowed out of the mansion, but she usually doesn't try to let herself out.

She really respects her older sister Remilia, but her raw destructive power far exceeds that of her sister's. Although she is usually docile, her insanity makes it difficult for others to understand her.

When vampires attack humans, they generally try to take their prey alive so that they can suck its blood afterward, but Flandre has always been fed with cooked dishes, so she doesn't know how to properly attack a human. Whenever she tries to attack a human, she can't control herself and blows them away without leaving a spot of blood.

Perhaps she can't tell that her daily meals are made from living humans.

Her meals look like such harmless foodstuffs as cake and tea, after all...

This kind of Shou is really cute from time to time, at least if it's in a comical work. To be honest, I like the idea of her being a bit spacey, even if this isn't the best example of that.

The only part I agree with to 100% is the DFC. Boobs on Shou is like... a flat Yuyuko. It doesn't work. She's tall and slim and gorgeous. Luckily, she doesn't get the booblady treatment very often, so I don't really know where >>6715196 is coming from regarding that.

To be on-topic, I rarely let this kind of stuff bother me too much, but I do think that the portrayal of Ran as a pervert often ruins other-wisely sweet Ran and Chen centered stories. It's fine if it's just a joke in a comical doujin but it's annoying to see it ruin sweet stories that would just have been better without them.

Well for disliked fanon interpretations the Aya is a slut one is one I very much dislike. I rather like her paired up with Kourin or Reimu.

Sanae I'm fine with being a slut though. Frankly since she came around the slut view shifted a lot onto her.

Another one I dislike is the Flandre being a psychotic child one. Her dialogue in the EoSD extra doesn't give off that feel at all. And her spellcards don't feel destructive at all except for lavaetainn and Q.E.D. She feels more tricksterish to me then outright destructive. Like her four of a kind and and then there were none cards.

Another thing that kind of irks me is how fanon usually portrays Koishi doing cutesy affectionate things towards Satori while her eye is closed. It just doesn't mesh well with their backstory for me. Satori decided to accept the hate while Koishi decided to go the complete opposite direction. I detected a schism of ideals there that would likely be pretty deep. If Koishi's eye opened then I could accept her being nice and affectionate. But with her eye closed I can't see her like that. One doujin I read did in fact have her eye open and I very much liked that doujin.

I am thankful for everything and try to appreciate every single aspect of fanon. Even ones I really dislike, namely meanspirited ones like "X is a slut", have at least inspired some great doujins. Fanon, canon-I love everything about Touhou!

I hate SUPPA TENKO Ran and Utsuho being an idiot. Aya is a slut get's annoying too... But for the most part, fanon doesn't particularely bother me, for any series. People should be able to enjoy their fandom in whatever way they want, in my opinion. Just as long as people who enjoy something fanon don't try bringing into discussions all the time as though it's canon. 'Sanae is a slut' for example doesn't really bother me too much (I don't really like her or dislike her), but that's as long as people who say it know it's just a joke, and that she's not really a whore. Personally, I quite enjoy psycho Flan, but I know that she's really not that batshit insane.
