I enjoyed EP 7s solution. Even though it is absurd it was also very beautiful. My favorite part however was Rudolph and Kyrie murder duo with dat deliciously evil bgm and Kyrie's game theory thinking put in action. I was actually rooting for them to get away and live a happy life with Battler.

Or he just gave Lion the headships because he despises all his other sons.

>> No.6694815

I think I have a decent theory to explain this. As follows:

Red text that refers to Kanon only ever says two things of note; that he is dead, and that he was killed in Jessica's room. No time frame is given for this, it could be well before the family conference. This solves the 'personality death' red truth bullshit.

There are multiple references throughout the story to "a servant who didn't respect Beatrice, who had an /accident/". This is repeated too much to be unimportant. I believe this servant was Kanon, and Jessica killed him (I would guess by accident? Could be Yasu instead, but Jessica works better). The death is covered up by Natsuhi and Krauss, as a police investigation would uncover Kinzo's death and their embezzlement (and possibly result in a murder charge for their daughter).

As such, Yasu impersonates Kanon during the family conference.

This is why noone seems to notice that Kanon and Shannon are the same person: they know, but they're forced to cover it up. Even when one of the pair "dies" in EP1, Natsuhi cannot bring herself to uncover the secret, because it would require Jessica's deed to become public knowledge. This fits reasonably well, since Natsuhi's obviously suspicious of Shannon in EP1.

Anyone spot any hole/got and improvements? This feels pretty good to me, but it's something I've been turning around in my head for a while, so I might have lost perspective.

There's no proof that Jessica knows about Shkanon.
But there's no proof that she doesnt know either.

The only proofs admissible in this game are the red, gold and Battler POV.

And none of these ever proved that Jessica knew or not.

What we can do is to use Knox as a guideline, and we're doing very well in estabilishing Jessitrice as an acceptable truth.

Ah, nice old school.

Reminds me, you can look at the different episodes as being largely "who does Yasu intend to bribe". EP1 is Hideyoshi and Eva who she then kills, EP2 is Rosa, who gets bombed, EP3 is apparently no one (perhaps Nanjo Kumasawa and Genji also faked their deaths in the first twilight only to get shot) and then gets served by Eva, EP4 is presumably Kyrie and Rudolf who she kills, and EP5 and 6 are magic self insert erika screwing the whole thing up.

I would hazard that Krauss and Natsuhi would never have agreed to work with Yasu. Maybe this is why they die early a lot.

Yasu enters room, lets Battler out. Decides that she will abandon being Kanon, and hides as Shannon. Thus Kanon is not in this room, because he "died", "stopped existing" . Erika didn't think about one person having many names and personalities, only one name being assigned to many people.

people still bitching about the solution?
with all the servants and 1 million yen there aren't any issues in earlier games
and ryu spent plenty of time on justifying the motivation
the hints started coming from episode 1 so there's no argument to say it came out of nowhere
and when people started reading into them the wrong way ryu even stepped in and told you the way you had to read it to make sense

guy created a novel with an answer that could be found as long as the reader was willing to play along and the peoples start complaining how they want to solve it and read it their way

That's because Yasu doesn't have DID. She's just unhappy and delusional, which leads her to imagining she's someone else. There were different reasons for it, but in 1984 her remaining reasons are, I think, as follows:
Beatrice for Battler
Shannon for George
Emo boy for Jessica

All this love duel in ep6 is her conflict whom to choose, and she discards others except Shannon. Thus they were killed by Yasu.

sorry you didn't have the displeasure of passing an introductory psychology course, but patients suffering from DID are not generally aware of their other personalities prior to diagnosis.

just as you can be a 'different person' among different friends yasu created different personalities for different situations and then lost track of which was really her
