I have the opportunity to fly to japan for comiket however I would only be there for Wednesday and possibly Thursday morning. Does anyone have a list of what will be available on each day. I've downloaded the catalog however I can't read the glorious language.

The catalog is basically a listing of what circles will be present. If you don't know which circles grab your interest, then, as >>6692348 said, you're just going to look stupid, walking around aimlessly, getting knocked by determined kimoota left and right. It's not worth going to unless you have specific goals.

Why would you just stay for one and a half day? Plane tickets there are pretty expensive, so I don't see how a so short stay could justify the price.

Pixiv has become pretty useful for figuring out where to find the content you're interested in, but it requires a little knowledge of Japanese, though having rikaichan helps a lot.

You know, that IS what you do.

Just point at a doujinshi / CD / ETC, and hand the appropriate amount of cash (often a 1000 yen bill).

OP, don't worry about not knowing the language, I was just fine with only the most minimal knowledge of it. Make sure to go to Comike on the Thursday, as that is going to be the Touhou day, unless you're one of those rare people on /jp/ who aren't interested in Touhou.
