Guys. The "good"-ness of any board is always, always relative to the status of the other boards. /jp/ has gotten worse primarily due to /a/ getting worse, and we gets lots of cross traffic from them.

The thing is that /a/ has gotten bad to the point where most people there who have been there at least a year or two before today, are now in despair at seeing it become very close to a second /v/. Looking for somewhere else to go that hasn't succumbed to cancer, they try to fit in here or at least wander around here, lost and wide-eyed until they are spotted and told to leave. Bitter that they are rejected from here, they proceed to unleash their inner immaturity/asperger's, and come spam and talk shit.

The real root of /a/'s demise is that /a/ and /v/ have always been closely linked, and /v/ has become essentially /b/ 2.0. The root of /v/'s fall is poor moderation and not enough enforcing of the rules. moot made a proper set of global rules, that theoretically should keep /b/'s shit within its own borders, but, he does very little to fully enforce these rules and rather just sits on his hands or goes and works on canvas instead of actively attempting to protect the non-/b/ boards. moot's done mass cleansings in the distant past, we need another far harsher one than has been done before to enforce that /b/ shit fucking stays in /b/, that will solve much of 4chan's problems. puddi was a start but was not enough.

/a/ held on for awhile after that, but eventually succumbed to narutards and Bleach. The split occurred, and the animosity between /jp/ and /a/ kept the userbase separate for a long time.

The anti-/a/ sentiment became an anti-ALL sentiment that didn't hold to accepted board standards. After awhile, everyone came to look at us as dicks (and rightly so). Nothing particularly important occurred until the pudding event. The result of that is what you see here today.
