There has to be torrents for Higurashi, and yet I've never come across one. I'm stuck playing it on my iPhone...

Also, do you guys have any other recommendations for entry level VN's/eroge?

I have Kana Imouto and am hoping to find Higurashi somehow, I enjoyed what I've played of Kana in the past. I also really liked Eastern Starlight Romance demo.

Your google-fu is weak.

Honestly, it never occurred to me to Google for it instead of just typing it into the tracker sites I usually frequent. Might have something now, thanks.

And thanks for that link. It's a start but when I asked for recommendations I was hoping for a little more anecdotal feedback. If anyone wants to get on a soapbox and indoctrinate a VN noobie into your taste in VN's, here's your chance!

Read the description of those popular/most-played games, find the premise/genre that really pique your interest. You can post that title here to ask what /jp/ think of it. What you should have in mind before playing, while praying to avoid someone spoiling the fuck outta it.

Trust your heart, and always Google.

>entry level VN's/eroge
Okay then, listing some Newfag VNs, these are what lots of people read as their first ones.

Yume Miru Kusuri
Wanko to Kurasou
Tsukihime
Umineko (Although at this point I'd rather not recommend it anymore)
Saya no Uta
Fate/Stay Night

Most of those are actually above average. I could have listed other good ones too but you specifically asked for entry level stuff.

You should get used to the main response to piracy requests here being links to where you can buy said products. Not because /jp/ is opposed to piracy, but because teaching you to pirate is not a very high priority.

Upon developing the English version of Higurashi When They Cry",
the following elements could not be implemented from the Japanese version.

>This is primarily due to complications in the
copyright because of the nature of the original work.
Please understand it was a necessary measure for the release.

>- Replacement of BGM in some scenes
- Removal of the Music Room
- Removal of the Mini Game
- Removal of the Staff Room

>> No.6663433

Oh come on. We went over this shit when it was released.
>- Removal of the Music Room
In question arcs it was just freeware music anyway. Who the fuck cares.
>- Removal of the Mini Game
Who the fuck cares. Also copyright issues, it the minigames used characters from KEY and Squaresoft, amongst other things.
>- Removal of the Staff Room
This does not mean the thing where characters talk after the game, it's a secrect commentary thing that many people didn't even realize existed.

These "issues" are not issues at all. You're just trying to justify being a cheap fuck.

Saya No Uta is an excellent VN, It's very above-average and has a good story plot.

For beginners:
>planetarian
>fate/stay night
>narcissu
>Wanko To Kurasou

>Gore Screaming Show
>Se.kirara

Of the VN's listed on the popular list in vndb, Saya no Uta did catch my interest the most... except for all the gore/blood tags. Honestly, I don't mind it if it's fairly tasteful or relevant to the story, but what I really DON'T want is gory H scenes with mutilated bleeding vagoos and shit. As long as there's nothing like that, I'll probalby check out Saya no Uta first. So is it like that?

>> No.6665702

Nope, no bleeding vagoos, just a batshit loli-cthulu.
