I'm making a Touhou-based set of MTG, and now that it's at 97 cards, i realized that i'm sorely lacking in red and green cards. Each color has a character representing it, but i cant think of anything good for red. here's what i have so far:

Reimu/Alice: White
Cirno: Blue
Flandre/Remilia: Black
?????: Red
Suwako/Yuuka: Green
There are others, but they're either multiple colors or only have one card of their own.
So far, i have:
20 blue cards
19 black cards
16 white cards
7 green cards
3 red cards
Pic is an example card. What i would like is some suggestions of which characters would be appropriate, and perhaps suggestions for card additions.

Flandre does not represent Black at all. She's insane and destructive. Absolute Red.

Remilia could be Red/Black. Some interpretations see her as impulsive. Also, Scarlet Devil and whatnot.

Mokou is very Red. A common portrayal of Mokou is prone to insane fiery rages.

Utsuho is prone to wanton destruction, so she's Red too.

Wow. how did i overlook her. I feel like an idiot. i knew you guys could help!

Themes:
Artificial Armpits: Uses Alice's doll tokens to make waves of attackers, while reimu's totem armor cards and damage prevention nullify your opponents attacks.

The Strongest Deck: Flies over enemies. Anyone being troublesome? Freeze them with tap abilities and attacking restrictions.

Scarlet Mansion: Destroy, Destroy, Destroy. Kill your opponents creatures, sacrifice your own for bonuses, and then there will be none...

Red and Green decks still to come...

Typically at the cost of itself. Furthermore, all of Black's destruction is either ordered to further Black's goals or omnicidal, to level the playing field.

It actually kinda fits. White - she's a princess and natural leader sort, Blue - she's long-lived and highly intelligent, Black - she's immortal and possibly disconnected with life, Red - she's probably reckless since being immortal she has nothing to worry about.

Nothing Green I can think of.

Wow, a lot of feedback to read through.

I already have Flandre and Remilia, ant they aren't pure black. Remilia is black/red, and Flandre is mainly black with a lot of other side-colors. (The multicolored wings made her a shoe-in for the "generate x mana or whatever color" mechanic).

Reisen is blue, but splashes red (also only cards with reisen on them have the Madness mechanic.).

Thanks for the awesome feedback, I'll put up the whole set before i go to bed tonight and you can rip it to shreds some more.

Almost every Touhou could be counted as Red since the qualification for that is simply to be very very destructive, you guys might need to think more about how their stated abilities tie in with actual typical mechanics for the various colors.

The other thing is that you might forget, that a damn lot of Magic cards are multicolor as well. It's too much effort to make a bunch of multicolor assignments though so you can just arbitrarily make your own.

These assignments are irrespective of what color you "feel" they "should" be associated with, and only go with respect to power to color correlation -

Green - Suwako, Suika, Yamame, Byakuren
Blue - Keine, Patchy, Sanae, Aya, Nazrin, Shou, Yukari
Red - Marisa, Flandre, Youmu, Murasa
Black - Medicine, Mima, Orin, Yuyuko, Hatate, Chen, Ran, Reisen, Yuugi
White - Eirin, Kaguya, Tewi, Reimu, Toyohime
Colorless - Alice, w/ various dolls being individual artifacts, Rinnosuke

Since Alara, there have been colored artifact creatures, or even, with Mirrodin, colored creatures/spells that affect artifacts. Seen the new block, Scars of Mirrodin? There's an artificer for each color, each one having different abilities when you cast an artifact. One could compare Nitori and Alice with those "smiths" and the Esper shard of Alara.

On another note, Patchy should be UGR, but mainly U. something like GUUR.

Want me to post an old, completed, balanced and properly formatted set? Made this shit months ago. It encompasses EoSD and PCB. EoSD gets R/B, while PCB gets W/U/G and has kind of a Kamigawa theme going on.

Yes, there's a bit of an art discrepancy. I tried to keep a similar theme, at least.

Jack the price up 4 and I might accept it.

14 mana puts it below Emrakul, and she's deadlier than Emrakul. Emrakul doesn't give you a PERFECT INSTANT victory, but it basically shifts the entire planet in your favor and if you don't win with that you're a pathetic failure. You cannot lose with Remilia unless you choose to lose.

You're missing the set theme here. And stop making every single card Legendary. Sure, they're named and should be Legendary in actual magic, but it doesn't work functionally.

Net CA is still zero, but you give them at worst the ability to pitch the worst cards in their hand.

Suddenly that hand full of land is a hand full of counterspells. Even if there's no card advantage, it's too easy to abuse it for hand quality improvement.

Then again, having to tap down 5 lands at most may be a bit more of a penalty than I'd like to admit, but something like that is just too easy to abuse.

It's mainly the combination of uncommon + repeatable + card draw + blue. If it was in red (and the discard was done at random), it might fit, especially since red doesn't really get any card draw, and if it does it tends to be chaotic. Wheel of Fortune comes to mind.

Mind you, I've actually played with the two decks of the set after printing it out. A bunch of people at out local FNM have gotten bored of the current Scars meta and decided to start making pseudo-magic. Most of them are your average /tg/ breed, so there were 40k decks everywhere as well as a Nanoha deck.

And when played against each other, EoSD tends to beat PCB.

OK, is there anyway to get into MtG besides playing with people IRL (because in the country I live in, the number of people know about MtG is as many as the number of people who go to /bun/). And I'm afraid to play online with people because I'm scared that they would go all l33t on me for being a newfag. Is there anything like a manga or videogame that exlain everything to you in a step by step manner (like the YGO series)? I already tried reading the rule page for MtG and honestly it confused me.
