STG's are fast-paced action games, how is that autistic? If anything, wouldn't an autistic gamer prefer box-pushing puzzle games like Sokoban, or number-crunching RPG's like Pokemon?

Wow I have to totally agree with this about "hard" games in general. Touhou is one of the few games that is hard and I'm unlikely to 1CC in most cases, but it still feels fair. Too many "Hard" games just have clumsy controls, and "Skilled" players are just those with more patience for bad programming.

I agree with him about Psikyo (which I assume is what was meant by Kikyo) and Gradius though. Yeah, Gradius. Gradius gets away with a lot of shit because it's old, but if it came out today, I bet a lot of STG fans would be slamming it with "fake difficulty."

Definitely this, some people tout games like Musishime as harder (which to them = better) but it's really just artificially difficult, when 90% of the screen is covered with the clones of purple danmaku usually spaced so that you can't actually see the gaps in between them without camping out near a corner or some other cheap way of getting by it.

They don't encourage you to actively do wild and weird things to survive, it's more of just enter clouds of danmaku that are designed to be difficult to differentiate with the eye and hope you survive because you can hardly see what you're fucking doing. Granted SA had some of that as well, but that's usually not the way Touhou rolls.

>> No.6636483

I'm a secondary, I'll admit it. I like the backstory and the characters and the music and stuff, and that's what got me into Touhou.
I HAVE played EoSD twice, first on normal (I died on Meiling) and then on easy (died on Cirno, wtf).
So, since I suck shmups, I'm perfectly happy being a secondary.

>> No.6636505

>>6636483
You're probably retarded as well. Meiling on normal? The game doesn't even start on normal until you begin Stage 4. I started on EoSD just as you did and could clear up that at least without dying. Past that point I just had to learn.
